Paul the Pedophile was working with humans. I'd read the books and watched the movies. I've heard of what humans are capable of if they knew we existed, witnessed through dreams why they were never to know. I was sure Sota knew this too, so the question still remained: Why?
Creak. Doon. Light pooled inside the dark room. I could make out a male figure with long hair. The door shut. A moment later red lights came flooding on.
I blinked to get my eyes adjusted to the fluorescent lighting. Just as I had finally gotten used to it the lights changed again. It took a little longer to adjust to the normal white lighting.
My captor pushed off of the far wall and made his way to me. I resisted the the not to lunge as he grew closer. Paul Sota. I settled for a more relaxed position. Shoulders down, head up, equal breaths. Someone in my old pack once told me that the shoulders were a key element in body language.
"Finally, you're awake. I thought I had hit you a little too hard." It took restraint not to sneer. "How's your head?" he asked.
"Fine."
A corner of his lips turned up. "Good. Good." We stared at each other. He was standing directly in front of me now. If he was a little closer...
I cleared my throat. "Do you plan on telling me where I am?"
Sota chuckled. "I'm sure you already know where you are. This is the Elders Palace after all." I raised an eyebrow. "Of course, this is the underground dungeon where the Elders keep their prisoners."
I felt my head tilt. "Prisoners?"
He rolled his eyes as if this was something I should know. "Prisoners. Food, traitors, and experiments."
My blood went cold. Did he just say... "Experiments?" That's when I finally took a look around the room.
The wall that I thought was painted black wasn't a wall at all. It was a huge rectangular window. A one way window. I couldn't see through it, but I could feel eyes on me. The rest of the room was painted grey. Even the floor. I turned my attention back to him. "Testing room?"
He smiled. "You guessed it. And when the humans are finished with you, you will be all mine."
I resisted the urge to gag. Play nice. I forced a smile. "Of course, Sota."
His smile was replaced by a menacing glare. "Call me Paul."
I stared at him. He was kidding right? The look in his eyes disagreed. I mentally drew a breath. "Paul." I visibily relaxed when his smile returned. "Why are there humans here? " I asked.
"They're observing you. They want to see what you can do, experiment, take samples-"
"And then kill me. " I interrupted.
He shook his head. "I won't let that happen." Before I could ask anything else he spun on his heel and walked away. As he grew further the lights went infrared, then dark. There was a slam of a door, and then the lights came on again.

Dream"Tori! Tori, where are you?" I was laying on the grass of a tall hill. The sun beamed down on my face as I watched the moving clouds. I sat up from my spot, taking in the large city below. This was the place Tori had just asked me to marry him. My eyes darted to the shiny ring on my finger.
"I'm here, Princess. I'm always right here." My future husband placed a bottle of wine and a picnic basket in front of my feet.
I raised my eyebrows as he joined me on the grass. "What's this?" I asked.
