The Troubles of Love (Endeavor x Reader AU 2)

Chapter 3

As soon as they entered the park, the kids rushed to play. (name) joined them in tag. The five of them ran around laughing. After a little while, they ran out of breath and sat down to relax.

(name) chuckled as they looked at their kids. Natsuo was attempting to push Touya on the swings. They rolled their eyes when they saw his heels were dug into the ground. Fuyumi and Shoto were drawing in the shade. Kiki was sleeping next to them. They themselves were reading.

"(ren), look what I drew!" Shoto raced up to them. He shove a piece of paper in their hands. "I made it for you."

It was a portrait of Enji. "Thank you, honey! This is wonderful. You've gotten so good. Are you proud of yourself?"

"Yup!" he said happily. "I'm gonna draw you now. That way, you & Dad can have pictures of each other all the time."

It touched (name)'s heart to see that he cared so much. "That's very kind of you, love. I know he love it as much as I love mine." They kissed his cheek & sent him on his way. They looked at the picture again with a smile. They folded it neatly before putting in their pocket.

They glanced at their watch. It was almost 5:30. Enji would be here in a few minutes, then they would eat their picnic. "I'm going to the restroom. Fuyumi is in charge - don't argue Touya."

The boy flipped them off. Fuyumi gasped and told him to behave. (name) shook their head, trying to hide their smile.

They grabbed their phone before walking away. It was a short distance to the nearest convenience store. They entered and quickly headed to the back.

As they were leaving, they felt something press against their throat. They stopped walking, fear filling them up. They realized it was a knife.

"Don't move or I'll slit your throat," a voice whispered. It sounded like a woman's voice. "I swear I'll do it."

"What do you want?" (name) replied. "There's money in my pockets."

"I don't want money," she replied with a grin. "I want you."

A hand touched their shoulder. Before they could move away, (name)'s vision went black. They fell into the strangers arms.

"Hey kids." Enji waved from afar.

"Dad!" Shoto ran towards him. "What took you so long?"

The man lifted his son and held him. "I'm sorry. Last minute fight. Where's (name)?"

"They went to the restroom, but that was 30 minutes ago." Fuyumi looked nervous as she explained. "Their phone isn't picking up. I was about to call you."

Enji frowned. He set his son down before looking around. "Where did they go?" Natsuo pointed, and he walked that way.

Entering the store, he looked around. The only other person in the store was the cashier.

"Have you seen my spouse, Todoroki (name)?" He asked her. They'd gained a fair amount of popularity since being together.

"They came in & went to the toilets," the girl informed him.

"Did they come back out?"

"I don't know, sir. I was leaving for my break when they came in." She paused before adding, "Do you want to see the security cameras?"

Enji nodded. The girl - Mei, he read on her name tag - led him to a security room. She unlocked the door. Mei sat down and began to reverse the footage.

"There," he pointed. "Scroll forward." She did just that.

(name) walks into the restroom. A few minutes pass, and they come back out. Before they could get out into the open, someone in a cloak creeps behind them. A blade is pressed against their throat. There was no sound, but Enji could see their lips moving. A moment later, (name) passes out. The two watched as they were dragged to the back door.

"I want this footage on my phone." He pulled out his device. Mei nodded and quickly transferred it over.

The pro left without another word. He looked around the back, but their were no signs. He sighed. He carded his fingers through his hair. Where could they have possibly been taken? As he walked back to the kids, his mind raced with a list of possible enemies. All eyes were on him when he arrived.

"Dad?" Touya asked. He saw their father's distressed look. "You okay?"

"Pack up the picnic. We're going home."

"Where's (ren)?" Natsuo asked. His voice shook.

Enji looked at them grimly. "(name) has been kidnapped."
