"Amelia!" Her manager called out to her. She stepped out of the supply closet in the back room and followed where she heard his voice. Once she accidentally introduced herself as Marissa, she ran and hid into the nearest room there. "Hey, we need you at the fry station with Spencer and Jasmine. You're covering for Avery." He instructed.
"Okay." She muttered before walking until she was in an area that smelled like classic McDonald's Fries. Two people were there — Spencer and Jasmine, diligently working with the deep fryer. "Hi." She sheepishly said.
They both turned to her for a quick moment before going back to their work. Spencer took over for Jasmine as she approached Amelia. "Hi, I'm Jas! That's Spencer. You're new, right? Oh, my God, sorry, what's your name?"
"Uh, I'm Amelia — Amy, if that's what you wanna call me." She awkwardly chuckled at the end, "And yeah, I'm new. I'm covering for Avery?"
"Yeah, she left a few minutes ago." Jasmine informed.
"Hey, can you two come help? I can't make all these fries myself." Spencer told them.
The two girls gave each other tight-lipped smiles before going to the deep fryers to help Spencer. "Cool shoes." He complimented Amelia. A slight dazed expression formed upon her face before thanking him and going back to work.
The shoes she wore were white high top Converse with random doodles from her, the triplets, and classmates from school. It's only been her first hour at her new job and she's already crushing on a coworker who complimented her shoes? She couldn't wait to tell Nick all about it later.
