( MID-LIFE CRISIS AT 18 ) ࿐ ࿔*:・゚SOMETHING FELT OFF today in Amelia's life and she didn't know why. Today was just like every other day. She woke up, hung out with her mom as she ate breakfast, drove to work, and now she was currently working on the fries — just like the day before and the day before that one and so on. She felt average those days, so she had no idea why she just felt so. . . exhausted today. But maybe that was the problem.
As she continued working on making those fries for the customers, she couldn't help but keep quiet to herself. In those quiet moments, she realized her life was like one of those time loop movies. She tried to recall the last time she did something different or impactful with her life and she couldn't. Admittedly, it made her quite dejected and gloomy.
There was the summers she spent in New York with her dad, if that counted as anything. But even then, she spent the whole time in her room doing nothing but watching the same movies and shows repeatedly. Did she even have a hobby? It were times like these where she wished she had found her passion at a young age. Sometimes she just wanted to say fuck it and become a popstar. But those were only in her dreams. In reality if she did that, she'd only have three monthly listeners on Spotify. And they'd all be the triplets.
Amelia admired the fact that they've had a strong passion for making videos since they were young. Because of that, they're able to create content on YouTube and everyone is able to benefit from their videos. She wished so desperately to know what she should do with her life.
Granted, she's only 18; she has the rest of her life ahead of her. Some people don't find what they want to do for the rest of their lives until they're a fully grown adult. She has plenty of time to figure out what she wants to do.
However, there was just this one daunting what-if that haunted her thoughts: what if she never figures it out? This thought only consumed her brain until she didn't even know what she was doing currently. She was so far gone, she didn't even hear Spencer calling her name right next to her.
He waved his hand over her face really quickly before snapping his fingers in front of her face. "Yo, Amy. Are you okay?"
She only blinked at him as she barely heard what he said. She only figured it out a few seconds after he asked. "Oh, yeah, I'm fine. Why'd you ask?"
"You're gonna burn the fries." He told her.
She took the fryer of french fries out from the oil and put it off to the side before creating a new batch. Amelia sighed tiredly, "Sorry."
"It's cool." Spencer responded. "I almost burn a lot of things here. It's a miracle I haven't been fired." Amelia gave a short and soft chuckle and continued to stare at the fries until they were finished.
In contrast to Amy, Spencer was great at a lot of things — despite joking to be terrible at everything. Amelia didn't know much about his hobbies and interests outside of work other than knowing he loves photography and playing the guitar. And he was very good at both. What she didn't know, however, was that he had the ability to skate, play basketball, and draw. Spencer was so good at all those things, everyone he knew would go to him for them. He did exceptionally well in those fields. He always did.
