Chapter 27

Leo POV-

I was walking back to my dorm after having spent almost the whole day with Ace. Staying here for the holidays wasn't going to be that bad after all. I really liked hanging out with Ace, he was so calm and listened to everything I said very interested. There was no awkward silence between us, which I was quite thankful for, and today just felt so... comfortable.

He had other things to do, but I was already looking forward to tomorrow.

I entered the dorm and sat down at the little table opening my computer, to check up on some things. My mom had tried calling me a couple times, so I decided to call her up on facetime.

''Hey mom'' I said smiling at my mom who was clearly happy that I called her.

''Hi honey how are you? Have you had fun with Claire?'' she asked interested.

''I'm good, actually Claire isn't staying here, she's spending the holiday with her girlfriend'' I said, scratching the back of my neck.

''Does Claire have a girlfriend now?'' My mom asked genuinely interested.

''Yeah'' I said simply.

''Oh, I'm so happy for her, I'll have to text her congratulations after'' she said getting her phone ready.

''Mom don't, that's weird'' I said shaking my head.

''Oh nonsense, I'm sure she will be happy having a caring person congratulating her, unlike her 'friend' '' she said sassily. After having sent a probably very weird message to my best friend. She looked back at me.

''What about you honey, do you have a person you like?'' she said as she wiggled her eyebrows at me.

''Mom, stop it.'' I glared at her and saw her chuckle.

''I don't hear a no'' I rolled my eyes at her weird assumption.

''No but seriously, are you finding things you can do so you don't feel lonely, I feel so bad that your dad and I left for this trip.'' she said, her mood suddenly switching to a more serious one.

''Don't feel bad mom. I know someone who is staying here too, and I actually just came back from spending the day with them''

''Who is this person if I may ask?'' she said furrowing her brows. I thought for a bit of how to explain who he was so she would know who I was talking about.

''Do you remember the guy that helped you carry my bags the one time you came here?'' I asked hoping she would remember.

''Ah yes I do, he's a fine young man'' she said smiling at me. Then my dad showed up in the background and walked up to my mom.

''Who's a fine young man?'' he asked playfully with his serious tone.

''Mmm no one" my mom said innocently and winked at me, I rolled my eyes again laughing at both of them.

''Say hi to your son now that you're here, will you?'' my mom said looking up at my dad.

''Hi Leon'' my dad said bending down to look at me. I smiled at his confused face. He wasn't the best with technology.

''Hi dad, I miss you'' I said and smiled softly. It had been a while since I had last seen him.

''I miss you too kiddo'' my mom then shoed him away so she could talk with me again.

''How are you and dad doing?'' I asked curiously. I was sure I didn't want to join their wander trip, since that meant I would have to wander. But I still wanted to know how my parents were.
