Chapter 35

It had already been three hours, yet the crowd outside the building was still not tired. They were still shouting various homophobic slurs and were demonstrating loudly. The security around the building had been increased to not allow even a single person to come inside without due permission. The members who had arrived an hour ago were all sitting inside hyunjin's office along with Felix.

Although Felix was not afraid about the public opinion, he was still worried about the members because he knew that this news was going to affect the direction of their group and it made him anxious. While shifting in his chair, Felix wanted to say something to break the silence but stopped when he heard hyunjin say something.

"You all know the situation we are in and as much as I would like to completely resolve it, I am unable to do anything anymore. The news has already been aired on news channels and I don't know what to do anymore. So, I would like to ask you all a question before we proceed any further. Can I?" asked hyunjin who was answered by slight nods from the members

"Do you all care about fame and money, or do you care more about the music you put out into the world?" asked hyunjin which surprised everyone present there including Felix. He had not expected hyunjin to ask such kind of blunt questions.

"Then can I ask why do you want to know that?" asked chan

"Because your answer will decide the course of action I will be taking next, so please answer my question."

"For me, I care more about showing my dance steps than anything else in this world." Answered minho

"I am also doing this job because I like to sing." Said seungmin and jeongin

"I like to make music and it doesn't matter whether we are popular or not as long as some people like our music." Answered changbin which earned a nod of approval from han

"Then what about you, Chan Hyung?" asked hyunjin as chan was the only member to not have said anything

"I don't know why you are asking this but for me, I am doing this because I like to make music. As Binnie said, I don't care about our popularity as long as even a few people enjoy our music. Although I am grateful for the love our fans show us, I would have still made new songs even if we didn't have any fans. The popularity, the fame, and the money are just byproducts of my dream of being a musician and I live by that all the time." Said chan

"I am glad." That was all hyunjin said but before he could turn around, his hands were grabbed by Felix who was curious about why hyunjin asked such kind of question

"Why did you suddenly ask this question, hyunjin?" asked Felix

"Because I wanted to know how devoted they are to the music they make and if they are in it for the money and fame. Although I knew what everyone was going to answer, I still wanted to hear it from their mouths so that I could have at least some reassurance." Said hyunjin

"It's okay, hyunjin. You don't have to worry about us. We all were aware that something like this was going to happen someday and although we were nervous, I know for a fact that we all support you from the bottom of our hearts. Don't think about us for the time being and take care of yourself and Felix." said chan

As everyone was busy talking about how to deal with the situation at hand, they were interrupted when Daniel came inside the office to inform Hyunjin about the paparazzi who leaked their pictures. As soon as hyunjin was informed about the man, he ordered Daniel to bring the man to his office no matter what it takes.

After Daniel left the room, hyunjin was fuming in anger and Felix was a bit shocked to see hyunjin this angry over something. He wanted to make hyunjin relax a bit but he knew that right now, hyunjin won't listen to him no matter what he says.

But their wait for the man was cut short when Daniel informed them that the man had already been picked up and was now being escorted into the office.

"Do you want us all to leave you alone for some time?" asked Felix

"It's okay, lix. You all can just sit down. Don't worry, he won't be able to do anything." Said hyunjin before returning to his desk and sitting down on his chair

"Hey everyone, having a good day?" asked the man who entered the office just now. He had a wide victorious smile on his face which showed his slyness completely. But before anyone could say anything, he made his way to the chairs placed in front of hyunjin and sat down on one.

"So, tell me, Mr. Hyunjin. Why did you want to meet me?"

"Did I allow you to sit down?" asked hyunjin in a very low voice

"What? What are you saying?" asked the bewildered man

"Did I allow you to sit down?" yelled hyunjin which sent chills down everyone's spine

"No-No, you did not." Answered the man meekly.

All his previous pretentiousness had vanished now and his face had turned pale with all the nervousness.

"Then how dare you sit down before I allowed you to sit down? Get up right now." Said hyunjin while regaining his composure

"I... I'm sorry." That was all the paparazzi could say

"Why are you scared right now? You should have been scared before following us. You should've been scared before posting those pictures. You had a lot of chances to be scared but you chose to ignore them all. I don't like to do my business the dirty way but when it comes to people who mean everything to me, I am not going to let anyone do anything to them. So tell me, why did you do that?" asked hyunjin with a smile on his face but this time the smile was not affectionate or warm, it was cold and cunning.

"I... I..."

"Okay let it be. It doesn't matter why you did what you did because no matter what you say, the damage has already been done. Do you know why I asked you here, Mr. Jae? It was not because I wanted you to apologize and it was also not because I wanted you to kneel before me. It was to see the face of the person who dared to mess with me. There will be retribution for you, I hope you know that so prepare yourself accordingly." Said hyunjin in an intimidating voice

"But... But I was just doing my job." Argued the man who was known as Jae

"So what? Do I look like I care?" asked hyunjin before breaking off into a small laugh

"As I said before, I don't care. I will destroy you and you won't do anything because you won't be able to do anything. And for your sake, don't even dare to ask for forgiveness. I hate people who act pathetically like that." Said hyunjin with a sneer

"This... this isn't fair." Stuttered Jae

"I never said it was. You messed with a person you should've never messed with. Didn't you even check who I am before publishing that article about Felix and me? You can go now, this was my warning as a last act of kindness but now I am done. So before I change my mind, you should leave." Said hyunjin before standing up from his chair and coming around the desk to stand in front of Jae

"I will take away everything from you. Your job which you value so much, your reputation, your credibility. Your family--" Said hyunjin

He then bent down a little and placed his mouth beside Jae's ears but before Jae could react, he heard something from hyunjins deep voice which sent shivers down his spine

"Should I also take your life?"
