A full moon was up in the night sky. It wasn't shining brightly, but instead it was dull and covered with dark clouds. The atmosphere in the forest was unsettling and mysterious. The only sounds that could be heard were an owl hooting and the soft rustling of leaves. Then, there were footsteps on the dirt path. The footsteps were quick, as if the person wanted to leave the forest as soon as possible. Because of this human presence, a bird flapped its big wings and flew away. The person looked up scared, but then continued walking. Suddenly, there was the sound of a branch breaking and dry leaves crunching, as if something was stepping on them.
'It's just an animal minding its own business,' the person tried to comfort themselves. But then, they gulped in terror. A sharp blade that belonged to a knife shone in the dim moonlight.
A few hours later, the sun was more bright than ever, lighting every dark corner of the forest. Everything seemed happy and beautiful. The only clue of what happened the night before, was the dry spots of blood at the corner of the dirt path. A raccoon walking by stopped and sniffed the area. Then, it ran away with its little fluffy paws. Unlike the peaceful forest, the nearby school was filled with the students' loud voices.
In the changing room, April was changing into her PE clothes. The bell hadn't gone yet, so she went on her phone.
"Omg guys! April is on her phone!" said Jade to her friends.
"Omg, we need to tell the teacher!" Kate replied. The girls took pictures of April and looked really proud like they've done something praiseworthy.
"Now we'll show the teacher!" Jade said with an annoying voice.
'Tsk. Do you think I care?' April thought to herself. 'I'll deal with you annoying creature at night,' Then, she continued looking at her phone.
"Omg guys she's probably texting her boyfriend about it and crying!" Kate said.
"Nah, She's too ugly to have a boyfriend," Jade commented and they all laughed loudly. The bell went. April stood up and went to the gym.
"Alright, today we will have a volleyball match!" the teacher said.
"Teacher teacher! April didn't turn her phone in today!" Jade told the teacher. "Look!" she said and showed him the picture.
"Didn't you also use your phone to take that picture...?" April said looking like she couldn't care less.
"Well... anyhow! Why don't you and Kate play a match against April?" the teacher said looking very awkward.
"Pfft. Even the teacher doesn't tell you off, they really do treat you like a baby." April said.
"Shut your mouth!" Jade said angrily.
April won the volleyball match alone against two, and Jade was getting all fed up. When they went into the changing room, Jade exploded.
"You bitch!" She said and she slapped April. April's finger flinched.
"What are you gonna do now huh? Tell the teacher? They'll never believe a useless piece of trash like you!" Jade continued.
"'Course. All those assholes are whipped for you after all," April said calmly and got out of the room. Jade couldn't say anything.
"April, Jade told me you called your PE teacher an asshole. Is that true?" April's homeroom teacher asked some time later.
"Yeah," April said and yawned.
"April! That is very disrespectful!" the teacher shouted.
"The yawn or that I called that teacher an asshole?" April asked.
