The two laid on Jay's bed in silence— The burgers they was once eating now down onto the floor collecting dust and their faces bruised from their awkward punches. Eric's side ache, like sharp pains running from the side of the body but he didn't comment on whine about it. He just stared at the ceiling with Jay, A cold sweat running down both their necks. "So.." Eric finally broke the silence.

Jay looked over to Eric and the two locked eyes— "I'm not gay." Jay said quickly.

"I know," Eric replied.

"And I don't like you."

"I know, Jay."

"I don't think we can go back to.. normal."

"... I know," Eric sadly said— Eric sat up and gave Jay one last look before leaving the house. Eric knew their friendship would end today, but not like that. He was still trying to process what happened when he got home, His little sisters were there to confront him though they didn't know what had happened soon Eric was back in school.

Unlike what he thought nobody seemed to care or want to know why he wasn't at school besides some of his football friends and a few teachers who checked up on him— The day felt long and exhausting, so much to catch up on- and when lunch came around his nerves couldn't rest easy. He just made an excuse of wanting to catch up on work rather than sitting with his football friends and Jay.

Jay and him hadn't talked since— With everything that happened it wasn't a surprise. He didn't know how to treat Callum either, As the week went on- he made sure to give a proper apology to Jason and Callum and everyone he hurt or made feel bad. Eric had became more friendly with Jason after sharing some personal stuff with him, he couldn't just say 'I overreacted' without giving a cause.

So he told him about that night— Not that he was gay or that he had a crush on Callum, but how much that night affected him just for it turn out they never really had sex. Jason was more understanding than Eric thought, there was a part of Eric that wished they had come to together on better terms.

"So you and Jay aren't friends anymore?" Jason asked— The two had been meeting at the library whenever they could so Eric could get caught up from the school he missed.

"No.. not really." Eric said blankly as he worked on the math problem in front of him.

"Are y'all going to be, like, are y'all gonna make up?"

Eric shook his head and shrugged it off, "Things just happen." Eric hadn't told Jason about the whole conversation and what lead up to Jay and him not being friends anymore, only just bits and pieces and how Jay reacted. Eric also had learned a lot about Jason in this time.

Eric hadn't really talked to Callum either— Or Emily, or anyone outside of Jason and his family. His family was very worried about him. Mostly his parents and Matthew- his brother. Matthew felt somewhat guilty but at the same time restless, Eric knew he would have to tell his family sooner or later. About himself. And his sexuality.

Once the end of the day came Eric made his way to the locker rooms and field— They would have a game soon, And the coach was making sure all the boys were ready. Eric quickly got changed as the boys around him talked, and laughed and reviewed their places on the field. "You was gone for awhile," One of the boys said- Slapping Eric's back playfully. Eric grunted a little but laughed it off as the boys surrounding him laughed as well, "Thought you died or something." The boy continued.

Eric chuckled some and threw on his shirt— "Well.. you know." He shrugged off.

"No, for real where was you?"

When did he ever care? Eric thought to himself as he shrugged off the boy again.
