ACT ONE-HOMECOMING

"Okay, so how do we calculate linear acceleration between points A and B?" Miss Warren from physics asks the class. A few put their hands up but Flash was the first. "It's the product of sine of the angle and gravity divided by the mass." Flash answered proudly. "Wrong" Miss Warren said.

Gwen and Peter were watching a video of spider-man on his laptop. "See how he moves" Gwen whispered. "It's definetly someone who is still learning" She told Peter who sounded offended. "I think he is a pro" The boy told her.

"Peter?" Miss Warren said. Peter and Gwen both looked up from the screen as Peter closed his laptop. "Uh... Mass cancels out, so it's just gravity times sine." Peter said quickly. Gwen smiled at her best friend and then saw how Flash was looking. " Right. See, Flash, being the fastest isn't always the best if you are wrong." The teacher said and everyone started laughing.

"You're dead" Flash whisper-yelled at Peter. "At least he's not dumb" Gwen whisper-yelled back. Flash huffed before looking back at the teacher. "Why can't you just ignore him?" Peter sounded tired. "Because if you can help someone you should. Like spider-man" Gwen smiled. "Spider-man huh?" Peter smiled back at her.

At noon Gwen saw Peter and Ned sitting at their usual table. They were staring in front of them at Liz, a girl Peter was crushing on. "You guys should probably stop staring before it gets creepy, though." She sits next to them and smiles. "Too late" The girl at the end of the table says. "Those guys are losers"

"But then why do you sit with us?" Ned asked her. Gwen knew Mj from seeing but never really talked to her. They would nod in the hallway and work on a project. But friendship? "Because I don't have any friends" Mj answered Ned's question.

It was the training for the decathlon and Gwen was chosen to take pictures of the team on their journey this year. "Let's move to the next question." Liz stood in front of the stage with cards and the team sat at a table with bells. "What is the heaviest naturally-occurring element?"

"Hydrogen's the lightest." Charles rings the bell and says. "That's not the question. Okay. Yeah." He hides back in his shell. "Uranium." Abraham 'Abe' answered after. "That is correct Abraham" Liz tells him with a smile. "Please open your books to page ten" Liz commands.

A few feet away, Peter is talking with mr. Harrison about the decathlon. Gwen notices his distressed face. She takes her camera, zooms in and 'Click' takes a picture.

"You've never even been in the same room as Tony Stark." Flash yells. He had overheard Peter talking and wanted to cause a scene. "Wait, what's happening?" A girl, Cindy asked. "Peter's not going to Washington." Sally answered. "No. No, no, no, no, no. No. No." Sally and everyone started to freak out.

"Why not?" Abe asked Peter. "Really? Right before nationals?" Liz looked at him and Gwen noticed she didn't just look at him, she looked at him. "He already quit marching band and robotics lab." Mj tells everyone who were now staring at her. "I'm not obsessed with him. Just very observant." She adds quickly.

"Flash, you're in for Peter." Liz says, but everyone could see her devastation. "Ooh, I don't know. I gotta check my calendar first. I got a hot date with Black Widow coming up." Flash laughed. "That is false" Abe ringed the bell before him. Gwen couldn't help but laugh. "What did I tell you about using the bell for comedic purposes?" Mr. Harrison says.
