ACT ONE-HOMECOMING

The teens were waiting to get into the bus when Peter came running. "Hey, it's Peter." Abe said happily. Everyone started to roam around him. "I thought maybe I could rejoin the team?" He asked carefully. Gwen looked at him with pierced eyes, something was off.

"No, no way. You can't just quit on us, stroll up, and be welcomed back by everyone" Flash walked up to Peter. "Hey, welcome back, Peter. Flash, you're back to first alternate" Mr. Harrington came off the bus. "What?" Flash asked defeated. "He's taking your place." Abe said, Gwen laughed.

"Excuse me, can we go already? 'Cause I was hoping to get in some light protesting in front of one of the embassies before dinner, so." Mj stopped the heartwarming welcome of Peter. "Protesting is patriotic. Let's get on the bus."

The Decathlon team arrives in the check-in area. The interior of the hotel is filled with preparations for the Decathlon. The students and teacher look on in awe as they walk in. Liz is at their front, leading everyone. They all go to their rooms. Gwen with Mj.

"I claim this one" Gwen jumps on the right bed. "Sure" Mj smiles a little as she sits on the left bed. Gwen takes out her camera and takes a picture of her friend. "What did you do that for?" Mj looks creeped out. "It's my thing"

The decathlon has ended. Gwen took pictures and everyone wondered where Peter was, he had once again dissapeared. "Maybe we can check out the Washington monument while we're here" Harrington says. "Let me guess, you're sitting this one out?" Gwen stood next to Mj. "I don't celebrate slave buildings" She answered casually. "See you when you get back"

Gwen follows her class into the building. As they get into the elevator, the tour guide starts explaining. Gwen takes out her camera to take a few pictures. "The Washington Monument is 555 feet, 5 and 1/8 inches tall. Notice how the marble and granite are cut around the stone" The tour guide says monotome.

Then a crack is heard and the elevator stops moving. The kids all look around worriedly as the guide tries to calm them down. Ned drops his backpack. The small space is filled with smoke. "Oh, my god. Look at the ceiling." Abe points up. A glowing, red crack cuts across the elevator ceiling. "Just stay calm" Liz steps in her leadership role. "We're all going to die up here" Abe yells.

Gwen looks at Ned, who was looking guilty. "Okay guys, I know that was scary, but our safety systems are working" The tour guide calms everyone down as the elevator stood still. "We're very safe in here." She repeats.

A park rangers open the doors to the elevator shaft. The tour guide opens a hatch in the ceiling of the elevator, and looks out. They pull Cindy out first. Gwen goes in a corner uncomfortably because of the movement the rescuers are causing.

"Okay, who's next?" Harrington asks as Liz wants to climb on his shoulder but gets pushed aside by Flash. This causing the elevator to fall down a little and the teens yell out. "Take my trophy!" Flash yells as he wants to climb out.

Ned walks slowly towards Gwen who was just staring in front of her out of fear. "Gwen?" He says slowly and takes her hand. "Thank you" She whispers as she closes her eyes and holds onto Ned's hand.

When Flash gets out time seemed to slow down. Gwen looked up, the elevator started falling down. She, Ned and Liz started screaming loudly as they fell down. Spiderman shoots a strand of web onto the falling elevator, then braces his feet against the doors to the shaft. Gwen, Liz, Ned and Mr. Harrington are jostled in the elevator as it is stopped.

The doors break loose, and Spiderman falls after the plummeting elevator. It catches on a beam and he falls in through the ceiling on his back. The impact breaks off a wheel and the elevator starts to drop again. Spiderman shoots a web through the hole in the ceiling, stopping the elevator's descent. Hanging upside down with his feet braced against the ceiling of the elevator, he grabs on to the strand of web.

"Ahem. Hey, how you doing? Don't worry about it. I got you." Spiderman says in a Brooklyn accent. Gwen looks at him in awe. She couldn't believe she stood in front of Spiderman. "Yes! Yes!" Ned started waving his fists in the air making the elevator shake. "Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, big guy, quit moving around." Spiderman says and Ned apologises. Something wasn"t right with Gwen, he was just so familiar.

With his web attached to the ceiling high above, Spiderman slowly pulls the elevator up the shaft. They reach an upper floor. Ned, Liz and Harrington are pulled out of the elevator. Gwen hesitated. "Are you sure it's safe?" She asks as she slowly walks closer. Gwen reaches out, but before she can hold Mr. Harrington's outstretched hand, the ceiling snaps.

"Gwen!" She hears people yell, she could've sworn that one of them was Peter's. Although that wasn't what she thought of in the moment. The girl fell down and she thought of her dad, her best friends. What would've happened if she had just stayed with Mj?

Spiderman webs Gwen as the elevator falls. She dangles by her wrist. The girl breathes heavily, taking the superheroes' hand. She was scared to death yes, and yet, she had never felt more safe. There was something comforting about Spiderman. He lifts her up and the park ranger pulls her away.

"So is everyone okay?" Spiderman asks after a minute with his Brooklyn accent. Gwen nods as her classmates ask her how she's doing. The web snaps, and Spiderman drops. The students, the teacher, and the park rangers look down the elevator shaft going after Spiderman as he falls. "Are you really friends with Peter Parker?" Flash yells as everyone leaves.

"Gwen!" Peter yells as he runs towards the girl and embraces her. The girl is shocked at first but then hugs him back and tears leave her eyes. "I was so worried, are you okay?" He lets go and looks in her red eyes. "I don't know" She starts crying. "Where were you?" She then asked him. "I was..." Peter thought but he couldn't find an answer.

"You know what? I am done with your secrets Peter!" She pushed him away. "I thought we were best friends?" She looked at him and he just looked back guilty. "We are" He says back but Gwen rolld her eyes. "Friends don't keep secrets from each other" She says and walks away. Peter watches as she leaves and then gets met with May, debating what to do.

Gwen walks towards a familiar cop car. "You're okay!" George yelled as he embraced his little girl. "When I heard it was you in that building I didn't know what to do" He looked at Gwen. "I was saved by Spiderman, dad" Gwen tries to smile, but George saw right through her. "Let's get some hot cocoa and you van tell me all about it" He wanted to comfort her, Gwen nodded and left with her dad.

Gwen stood in her room, in front of her moodboard and put some new pictures on it. There were pictures of Spiderman she found online, news papers about robberies. "What's this?" She looked at one of her pictures. It was a backpack with a glowing stone in it. "It looks like..." She took another picture of a chitauri core, don't ask how she got it.

"Spiderman must've been investigating this" She smiled. The girl sneaked past her dad's bedroom and towards his home office. There she went through papers and found a paper that came from the FBI. "The ferry" She smiled. "I'll find you Spiderman"
