"Erm.. I.. I suppose!" I stuttered, glancing at Alexander after every word.
He nodded and my mother left.
We both sighed and burst out laughing, his laugh was a soft chuckle. It was so cute! Though, it was wrong to think this of a stranger I had only met maybe nearly 2 weeks ago..Over the course of the next month, I'd say we became friends, we clicked instantly and it went from there. We always hung around in the castle because I am not allowed outside the castle walls, due to me being a princess and all, and to be quite honest, I was terrified after my last encounter with those boys who threw me in the moat. Though, they weren't much of an issue anymore, Alexander had scared them off for the most part, I even got an apology from them. How curious. It was so fun hanging around Alexander, when I saw him, even on a bad day, he'd somehow make it better. He is charasmatic and kind, he is layed back and quite the adventurer. I don't know what it is about him, though I am drawn to his presence, I rarely believe in fate, in fact I hate the idea, but maybe if our fate was to become great-life-long friends, maybe I'd accept it. It didn't take long for my mother to grow suspicious of Alexander, so she set up guards to patrol and watch him, it was so embarrassing! I had to dismiss the guards, claiming Alexander was a body guard of some sort, it sounded stupid, though he took it well. I mean, he was my friend, however he defended me with his life. I was honoured to be in the graces of someone to selfless.
One day, we were put in the courtyard and he said something, "Well, M'lady, I'm leaving ya' tomorrow"
I was in shock, "What? why?"
He chuckled, "I need to meet up with my group, they're in the camp to the east."
I felt crushed, my only friend was leaving me. I'd be alone and I'd probably get picked on.
"Hey, princess Luciel." He pondered.
"Hn? please, Just call me Luciel. we are friends after all!" I laughed a bit.
"Heh, Luciel. Stay safe." He said, with a somewhat sad tone.
"You stay safe too! You're always welcome back here" I went to reach out my arms to give him a hug, but caught myself and fixed my posture. He laughed at the sight with that same chuckle and reached his arms out for me. I am ashamed to say, I collapsed into them, absolutely distraught. He rubbed my back, "I'll come back and visit ya, Luciel"
It made me feel better at the thought of it, though I couldn't help but feel a little sad.The following months were a blur, I can't remember what I did. I know it was repetitive. It wasn't as fun anymore, I had nobody to talk to or joke with. The days faded to weeks, weeks to months, I grew tired of my constant routine.
7 months passed by and there was no sign of him, maybe he met his girlfriend and started a family, maybe he got killed... maybe he got lost- I couldn't think like that I thought. I continued with my princess-y duties, walking around the castle, answering any burning questions, and walking out to the courtyard. When I walked out, I saw a familiar figure walking towards the castle. Though, I dare not go over and scare it, what if it isn't who I think it is? The figure came closer and I knew it was him, "AY, princess!" I ran up to him and practically jumped on him, I was so happy he was back!
He stumbled and nearly fell, but held me close to him incase he did fall. "Alexander!" I let go, he seemed uncomfortable with my touch, his face was of a red hue and he looked away. I had really screwed it up that time. He took out a small trinket from his pocket, he held my wrist and put something upon it. A curious little bracelet. It was made from a fine string and had shells and beads hanging from it. It was beautiful. I looked up at him, his cold, blue eyes catching my gaze. My heart skipped a beat. Unsure if why, I pondered until my bother barged out, "Oi! You two together again?
