Reunited

Annabel

A girl comes out of nowhere, latching onto Jax's arm.

"Where have you been? I've been waiting alone for 30 minutes! Come on, you need to take me back to my castle or my parents will get worried!" The girl says, using one hand to brush blonde hair out of baby-blue eyes.

"Who's this?" I ask, sending the girl a glare.

There's a small pause. The girl looks at Jax as if expecting him to say something. Finally, he sighs and rolls his eyes.

"This is Annabel." Jax says, moving his arm to get the girl to let go.

"Princess Annabel." Annabel corrects.

"I've never heard of you. How do you know my friend here?" Ollie asks as Jax finally gets the girl to let go of his arm.

"I'm his date for the party. He didn't tell you?" Annabel explains.

"No. He didn't tell us." I say through clenched teeth. I shoot a glare at Jax and he takes a step back.

"Oh, well, now you know. Who are you? Wait, no, don't tell me. I think I know. Hmmmmmm, oh! You must be Gillian Cobbler! Jaxon talks about you a lot. You'd be surprised. I can barely say anything without him finding a story about you to tell." Annabel laughs.

"Oh really? Do tell us more." Ollie says in a teasing tone.

I'm slightly surprised at what Annabel said. I didn't know that Jax talked about me.

"Oh, he has stories for almost everything! One time I asked what his favorite book was and he told me about the time Gilly opened a book when she wasn't supposed to, causing pirates to come out of the book, chaos to spread, and getting pretty much all of you in trouble." Annabel laughs.

"Wow. Did he tell you about the time Gilly accidentally shot Harlow with an arrow?" AG asks.

"Yes! Oh my goodness, Gilly's so lucky she only hit Harlow's cape!" Annabel giggled.

I feel a small blush spread across my face.

"Guys, it wasn't funny." I whine.

"Sure it wasn't." Jocelyn says sarcastically.

"What about the time Gilly accidentally punched Jax in the face when she was blindfolded?" Maxine asks.

"Yes! Jax told me it broke his nose! That was after I asked him if he liked a pair of earrings. I have no idea how it got from that to the story though." Annabel explains.

"She was angry because we magically pierced her ears in her sleep. We blindfolded her so that she wouldn't know who to hit!" Kayla laughs.

"Jax was the only one who wasn't in on it!" AG exclaims before bursting out laughing.

"It was an accident! I didn't mean to hit him! I thought he was Jack." I say.

"How dare you!" Jax yells.

"I couldn't see! I heard you talk so I knew it was a boy but I was to angry to realize it was you!" I explain.

Annabel starts laughing even harder.

"Hey, do you remember the time Gilly started a magic food fight, then denied she had anything to do with it when she accidentally hit Flora in the face with a pie?" Maxine asks.

"Oh my gosh, that story was so funny! I asked if Jax wanted a piece of cake and then he told me that story!" Annabel exclaims.

I start blushing harder.

"Okay, that's enough. Let's get you home." Jax interrupts.

"Okay, okay. Fine. Goodbye. Sorry if I was a little rude earlier, I'm a little protective of my friends." Annabel apologizes.

"It's okay. Bye Annabel. Have a good night." I say, waving as Annabel and Jax leave.

The rest of my friends leave as well, going off to their homes. I stay though. I decide to stay at FTRS. These kids need me. I'm going to help them.

I walk into Flora's office and look around. It all looks exactly how it did when I first arrived here. I walk over to the quill I almost stole the first time I was here.

"I'm going to fix this. Somehow, I'll make this right. I'll make this okay. I promise." I whisper to no one.
