A/N : I wrote one line in Arabic (I also put a translation), but there are two things to note about it. For one, it's Google Translated so if you speak Arabic and something is off, I am sorry. Also, because written Arabic is written left to right, the line is written like... Phonetically? Like how on Google Translate, it gives you the writing and then there's a bit below that's in English lettering? Yeah. Sorry in advance.
Abed sat in the library on his laptop with his headphones on. Not only did they help to keep his work to himself (and ergo didn't make him into a bother for other people who were trying to use the library for things like studying), but it also helped to block out the sound, which he appreciated deeply.
Unfortunately, this meant that he didn't notice when Britta came up behind him, watching him edit his next video project. When he did notice her standing over his shoulder, he seemed a bit startled. "Hey, no worries!" she assured him in the soothing way she always talked to him. That tone of voice that sounded almost a bit condescending, but he knew was meant with kindness. "Working on a new movie?"
"Yes" he confirmed with a nod, taking off the headphones. "It's actually an apology to you, but with more class than just me sitting in front of a camera and saying I'm sorry" he explained. "Because if I wanted to do that, I would just do it in person. There would be no purpose in doing it on film"
"Apology?" Britta asked, cocking her head slightly to the side.
"For everything with me starting the film class" he elaborated further in that almost monotone way he spoke, but she could tell he felt remorse (otherwise he wouldn't be doing... Whatever this was). "I was using you and Jeff as means to an end and manipulating the situation to get a genuine moment for my film instead of just asking you to read lines or hiring an actor" he continued. "That wasn't very fair to you"
"It wasn't" Britta confirmed, sitting next to him on the couch. "But I forgive you... And I also want to say I'm sorry for getting so impatient with you"
"It was good for the movie"
"But it wasn't kind to you, and I'm sorry for that"
...
"I can be difficult" Abed said after a moment. Britta frowned. "Abed..." she said in a tone that said 'can we not do this?', but he pressed on. "I am" he insisted. "It's something that took a while for me to understand about myself, but I know that it can be difficult to communicate with me and I can have a hard time communicating with other people, which is why that turned into such a mess" he explained. "That's part of what I like about filmmaking"
"I'm glad you have an outlet now but, Abed, you are not difficult"
"Hadha latif jdan mink 'an taqul dhalik , lakinani 'aelam 'anani kadhalika (That's very nice of you to say that, but I know I am)"
"Abed, I don't understand-"
"I appreciate your kindness, Britta" he told her with a small smile. "And I'm sorry"
"...I forgive you, Abed"
