"Hey" Troy said, visibly annoyed as Annie entered into the room. "Sorry for bailing on the psych experiment"
"That was the experiment, Troy" Annie bit back, just as overly sarcastic as he had come across, if not more. Abed said nothing as he watched the interaction unfold, but she didn't even want to pay him any mind at that moment. "We were testing to see how long people would wait in the room"
Troy's eyes widened at this realization and he leaned forward with a surprised "Woah". Suddenly he felt his anger slipping away, because... Yeah. That was clever.
"Gotcha" Abed said after a moment of processing the new information. Annie felt her blood boil at his casualty. He seemed so unbothered by the whole thing and it didn't make sense. She wished she never asked him to do the experiment, honestly.
"Gotcha?" she asked, baffled. "That's all you have to say?"
"Yeah"
"You sat in a room for 26 straight hours" she said, exasperated. Troy looked over at Abed with surprise. He could not imagine staying there for that long. "Didn't that... Bother you???"
"Yeah, I was livid"
"THEN WHY DIDN'T YOU LEAVE!?"
"Because you asked me to say and you said we were friends"
...
Annie sat down. She didn't have a proper response to that. She also felt incredibly guilty for yelling at him and just overall being so rude... He hadn't actually done anything wrong. Quite the opposite, in fact. He acted exactly as how he was supposed to when waiting. Patient as ever.
He valued their friendship. He thought she did too, and he thought that's why she asked him for help with the experiment. He was absolutely furious when he realized that he was wasting his time in there instead of watching Indiana Jones like he wanted, but he was a good friend... She wasn't being a very good friend in return.
Troy awkwardly got up and left. The tension in the room was too much for him. Neither could really blame him for that... Annie left soon after.
It seemed she had some self reflection to do.
