Grunts filled the open area. Bugs buzzed quietly in the night, with only the path of the moon to guide them. The sun had set long ago, and it was late into the night. Two figures stood in the center of an open field, across each other. A glow, brighter then the moon, emitted from around their bodies. One in red, one in blue.

The taller one's stance was relaxed. His hands were stuffed into his pockets, and he looked almost like he was getting ready for a spa treatment, rather than being in the middle of a fight. His eyes were a brilliant blue, and the world was reflected in his eyes. His silvery hair brushed against his forehead, and swayed to the side in the wind.

Across from him was a calm figure. Her dark hair was pulled up into a low bun, though many strands managed to escape. Her eyes were a dark crimson--they were full of color, but were painfully empty. Across one of her eyes was a long scar that was beginning to fade away. She looked tired, exhausted even. Less physically, more mentally.

"I didn't think you would recover so fast," said the smooth voice of Gojo.

Seiko's lips twisted upward in dry amusement. "An assassin is trained to be the quickest to recover. If you were even a millisecond late, you'd find yourself six-feet down under."

Gojo ignored her remark, and tilted his head at her. "You're hiding something from me."

"What do you mean?" she replied. Her tone was neither worried or nervous, but questioning. Seiko knew what he was referring to, of course she knew. It had to do with a new form of energy emitting from her body. It was more powerful, more dangerous.

"You're different," Gojo replied simply. "I'm not stupid, Sumi. I've noticed it since you've came back. I didn't say anything before, since I didn't want to push it. But your cursed energy is different now, and it's much more powerful. I ignored it for your sake. But now that it's become this powerful, someone else might find traces of it, and it'd be brought up to the elders. It's best that you fess up to it now, or things will be much worse than they are now."

Seiko stayed silent for a moment, at let Gojo's words process through her head. She knew that he had noticed, and had been waiting for him to ask since the second she stepped foot in Japan. Unfortunately, he asked later than she had hoped.

"I can't."

Gojo was startled. "What? What do you mean you shouldn't."

Seiko shook her head. "It's safer this way."

"Safer?" Gojo countered. His tone was firm, and his expression was furrowed and frowned. "You, or me?"

"Both, and more," she said. "Satoru, I don't want to be the cause of the Earth breaking in half."

"Is it really that dangerous?" he inquired. She nodded, and Gojo paused to think. He knew not of what she was hiding to him, but he had a hint of a feeling he knew what. "Do you have control over it?"
