[author's note: there is some confusion regarding the fact that seiko, megumi, etc. are first years though they are 18. to make things work, jujutsu tech is more of a college than a high school!]

The crisp sound of footsteps walking through a path of dead grass echoed throughout the forest, the only sound heard. The wind blew softly as a nighttime breeze, rusting the leaves. The moon was lit up from high in the sky, its light only offering to show you a few meters in front of you.

The owner of the footsteps walked through the dead grass at an average pace, their hands shoved into the pockets of their pants. A dark hood covered their hair and forehead, only revealing their sharp nose and smirking lips. They were tall, but not too tall, and slender to the point they could be mistaken for a model. The person wore dark fitted pants that showcase their long legs, and a hooded black shirt that hid their thin stomach.

Although hidden, the person could easily feel and tell the presence of the looming figure a dozen feet to their left. It was a curse, one that seemed stuck on the lone person.

The curse decided to make its move at that moment, rushing with its hideous mouth wide open. Its eyes were closed, waiting for the crunch of the person's skull. However, it was met with air. Soon, the curse's eyes flew open, searching high and low for the hooded figure that once stood before it.

"Oi," called a low voice from behind.

The curse whipped around with its claws out, spotting the hooded figure directly in front of it now. Their head was tilted to the left, their hands never leaving their pockets. As much as the curse squinted, it couldn't make out the features, if they were masculine or feminine.

"Why are you bothering me?" called the same voice.

The curse snapped out of its thoughts, lunging at the person.

"Rude," they muttered with a sigh.

The hooded person jumped out of the way, almost as if they had teleported at the speed they jumped. The curse lunged once more but was met with a foot in the face. Its eyes widened as it was sent back dozens of meters, although it was a lousy kick, in the person's eyes.

The hooded figure sighed once more, stretching their neck side-to-side. "Seriously, what a hassle."

The curse's multiple eyes widened, unintentionally meeting the gaze of a single eye.

With one flick of their wrist, the curse disappeared from plain sight. Where it disappeared to, they didn't quite know, themselves.

The figure huffed in annoyance, before suddenly reaching for something in their pocket. In one swift move, they spun in the opposite direction and threw four knives in four different directions.

The knives halted in mid-air a few inches away from their targets, before dropping to the ground. The culprit, in the middle of the four, smirked widely, the wind blowing softly through his pearly-white hair.

"Now, my dear Sei, is that really how you greet your favorite person?"

The younger three of the four glanced at their teacher in confusion, still horrified and scared at the sudden murder attempt they had just faced.
