Christmas was coming.
And the whole of Hogwarts was in the Christmas spirit, the castle was glistening in falling snowflakes and snow that was planted on top of all the statues and along the windowsills.
Y/n walked into the great hall which was glittering with Christmas trees and the ceiling was filled with falling snowflakes, slowly disintegrating as it comes closer and closer to the crowds of students eating their breakfast on a cold Saturday morning, the final trip to Hogsmeade before Christmas.
"I'm so excited! Let's go now!" Phoebe said excitedly.
"It's 9am Phoebs, we can't go until 10!" Hazel sighed as she placed her spoon into the empty cereal bowl that lay in-front of her.
"Why is it so long!" Phoebe sulked, twiddling the bacon with her fork.
"We're going to be there all day Phoebe, it's only another hour." Y/n smiled, making a light smile form on Phoebe's lips.
"Okay fine." She huffed, finishing her breakfast.
"Good morning Y/n!" George said from behind her. Causing Y/n to speedily turn around to face her best friend who wore a bright smile.
"Oh hey George. Ready for Hogsmeade, and where's your idiot of a twin brother?" Y/n asked as her eyes scanned the room for Fred, but he was no other 6'3 red head in the room.
"I'll be able to join you later, there's something Fred and I have to do first. And I think he's still in our dorm getting ready." George replied as he sat in the seat next to Y/n, casually getting his breakfast.
"What do you and Fred have to do?" Angelina asked, giving George a stare.
"That's for us to know, and you may find out through Annie." George chuckled, taking a bite out of his toast.
"It's okay, I'll ask Annie later." Y/n smiled at her best friend, slightly punching his arm.
"Okay okay, what are you four planning to do in Hogsmeade?" George asked, looking between the four girls with a smile on his face.
"We're going Christmas shopping and probably getting a butterbeer." Angelina replied, finishing the dregs of milk in her cereal bowl.
"That sounds lovely." George returned, causing Angelina to turn a pale shade of red.
"Oooooo. Angelina and George?" Hazel whispered across the table to Angelina, only so the two of them could hear.
"Shut up Hazel!" Angelina whisper-yelled to her, rolling her eyes after before turning back to George.
"Want to join us for a butterbeer later?" Y/n asked George as the four girls began to rise from their seats towards the entrance hall. "You can bring Fred along too I guess."
"I'll definitely be there, I'm sure Fred will to." George smiled. "I'll see you all later."
"See you Georgie." Y/n replied as she and Phoebe, Hazel and Angelina walked out of the hall.
The four girls quickly ran up to their dorm to bundle themselves up in their hats, scarves and gloves to combat the falling snow that was settling thick on the cold and hard floor.
"Can we go yet!" Phoebe groaned, walking down the steps to the common room, which was filled with first and second years who's light conversations were mainly full of their complaints that they couldn't go to Hogsmeade.
"Okay okay, let's go Phoebs." Angelina giggles.
"Good, let's go!" Phoebe squealed, pulling her three best friends out of the common room and through the cold corridors of Hogwarts.
