Y/n woke up the next morning to the birds quietly chirping in the trees in the distance. The sea rolling into the quiet beach of Sidmouth and the sound of the early barks of dogs as they took their daily walk down the beach.

She looked at her alarm clock which read 7:30am. She knew that her family would be sleeping, so she grabbed her favourite muggle book, threw on her flip flops and walked downstairs and quietly out the front door down towards the golden beach.

She wandered down aimlessly, looking at the view of the sea rolling into the sand creating small white waves and the peaceful sound as they crash into the land. But Y/n wasn't alone.

Alex Bailey was sitting at the top of the beach, reading the daily prophet, flicking through the pages doing the occasional head movement or audible tuts or sighs.

"Morning dad." Y/n said, sitting down on the sand next to him.

"Good morning sweetheart, how are you?" Alex asked, giving his daughter a warm smile.

"I'm okay, you?"

"I'm good. Sleep well?" He answered.

"I slept amazingly." She paused. "Can I talk to you about something?"

"Of course darling, what is it?" He asked skeptically, his smile fading slightly.

"Why didn't you tell me I had a godfather?" She asked without pause.

Alex stayed silent for a minute, looking down at the daily prophet then at the rolling sea. "How did you find out?"

"I was told."

"By who?"

"My godfather, Remus Lupin." At these words, Alex's face formed into a soft smile.

"Did he tell you everything?" Alex asked.

"Yes, everything. Including why you two decided to not communicate."

"I see, do you need to talk about anything about it?"

"Actually, yes. Why didn't you tell me, that I had a godfather. I understand you'd not yell me who he would be."

"I thought it would be the best for you. If I told you that you have a godfather I'd fear that you'd go looking, especially because of what was happening in the world during that time. I didn't want you to grow up worrying if he made it though the war or not, so me and Remus thought it would be better not to tell you until the time was right." Alex explained.

"Oh, okay. That makes sense." Y/n said, she nudged closer to her father, wrapped her arms around him to hug Alex tightly. "Thank you, for trying to keep me safe."

"I always will Y/n, until the day that I die." Alex smiled, hugging his daughter back.

~.~.~One Month Later~.~.~

July passed by quickly and August was in full swing. Y/n and the Bailey family has not done much over the summer months, mainly spending their day on the beach or in the local town of Sidmouth for some shopping or to grab some lunch in the small cafes and shops that are located on the seafront.

Y/n returned from an outing with her family when her and Annie's owls were perched on their stands, each holding three letters. The two girls each grabbed their letters and ran up to their bedrooms to open it.

The first letter was from Angelina
