"My Dear, are you certain that you're alright?"

My mom asks again, for the 5th time, I shouldn't have bursted out crying to them..

"Y-yes! Of course I'm O-okay mother!"

Mom looked at me with a incredulous face, I understand why she doubts me but I can't really tell them I cried thinking about my parents from my previous life...

"Mother's face is weird, Father tell mother I'm alright please!"

If you can't fool them, direct the conversation to somewhere else. I pleaded with father until he finally gave in and turned to persuading my mother that I was indeed alright.

"Dear, our Ela's alright, certainly she is seeing how she's acting more affectionate than normal."

My father explains, mom seemed to be relieved at his words but also, did father think I couldn't hear?

"Hah.. you're right, I'm sorry for doubting you dear, you worry your mom a lot, don't you now?"

My mom stood up to pick me up in her arms, I happily accepted of course. Nothing better than getting carried rather then walking in this big park..

"Rose, tidy up and follow along to the carriages with the rest of the servants."

"Yes, your grace."

Rose was a diligent maid loyal to my mother, I often saw her a lot when I was younger, but ever since I could walk I saw her less often. Her dark red hair really resembled a rose in full bloom.. Rose was a maid who would take care of me when mother wasn't home, partly why I remembered her.

We started walking away from the lake and towards the front entrance, my father following behind in a steady pace trying to catch up with my mother.

"Now, now Dear, Shouldn't I hold Ela back to the carriage?"

My mother looked back at him with a look of 'No.' and I couldn't help to giggle a bit from the interaction.

"Yes dear Ela, your father is quite the fool."

"Veronica, I can hear you."

"And I too, Isaac."

I bet my father rolled his eyes at mother's response, my parents never got out of their newly married phase.. I'm surprised I haven't gotten a younger sibling.

"Now dear, hurry up, we must get home by dawn. We don't want our dear Ela to miss her dinner now do we?"

Ah.. I cried a lot and we didn't get to enjoy our food..

Looking outside the carriage window to the busy capital where the sun is close to setting was mesmerizing. The way the sunray's reflections complimented the capital was mesmerizing. Now I know why people choose the capital as their number one choice to live in.

A yawn came from my mouth, crying sure can make you sleepy.

"Alright dear, you can sleep."

My mother advised, I wasn't that hungry.. but my parents must've wanted to eat together.

"Ah but-"

"It's alright, we can eat together for our breakfast."

With her permission I slowly slipped into a deep slumber, the sound of hooves hitting the now dirt ground getting further and further away as I fell asleep.

and so, 3 weeks passed and the letter finally arrived in Obelia.

{}

"Young miss, another letter arrived from Lady Lariensla."
