Chapter 5: The beast and myself?

After coming back from the North with only four more jewel shards Kagome decided to head back to get some more supplies. Kagome was gathering her things when she remembered the letter. "Oh, Aoi your sister asked me to give this to you." She said, while holding out the letter to the little girl. Aoi squeals and takes the letter while thanking her as she sat down to read. Kagome smiled softly at the little girl as she must have been so happy to hear from her sibling. "Do you want to write back to her Aoi?" Kagome asked, making her nod with a bright smile. "Yes please!" Aoi said. Kagome nods as she pulled out her pen and paper out so she could write a letter back. "Keep it until I get back." Kagome told her, as she stood up with her bag to head to the well. Aoi nods as she began to write to her sister. 

Kagome waved bye to the others as Inuyasha walked her to the well to send her off.  As they got closer to the well Inuyasha and Kagome began to feel a very strong aura around it. "Inuyasha do you sense that as well?" She asked as she tightened her grip on her bag straps. Inuyasha nods while growling at the well. He poked his head over the edge to see what was going on. Red eyes pierced back at him and sent him flying with hitting with its demonic aura. "Inuyasha are you ok?" Kagome asked, as she ran over to him with worried eyes. Inuyasha scoffed while sitting up while glaring at the well. "Tch that demon in that well is powerful. I don't think you should go in there Kagome." He told her. Kagome looked back at the well with worried eyes for her family. She stood up and walked towards the well cautiously then touched the edge of the well. "Inuyasha I am going. It was in my time and now this one it could attack my family." She said, as she sat on the edge to jump in. 

"Then I'm coming with you." Inuyasha says, while walking back over only to be pushed away by a barrier. 

Kagome watched with wide eyes then looked down the well with a small frown. She took a deep breath and jumped in while keeping her guard up as Inuyasha's yells slowly disappeared. The time swirls around her as she slowly traveled through time. As she looked around, she noticed that the demon stared at her with pleading eyes for a split moment like it needed help then turned into rage making her flinch. The beast flung itself at her causing everything to go dark. When she woke up, she heard the sounds of laughing and screaming of playing children. Kagome looked around to see she was on top of a hill looking down at the village. She noticed Aoi and Alice playing together in front of her. 

"Mommy! come please with us!" Aoi called, smiling at her while waving her over. 

"Coming sweetie." Kagome said, watching herself standing up as she was confused on where that came from as she didn't even know what was going on. 'What is going on here? I get that's me but why am I seeing this?' She thought. Kagome watched her future self-play with the twins. She couldn't help the smile that came to her face. She was enjoying the moment when the scene in front of her when she noticed an older Sesshomaru walking towards them. Kagome could see his lips moving but couldn't understand what he was saying. It was like he was muted in time. Kagome was about to move closer when she noticed even the memory, she was guessing became frozen.  "It is rude to spy on our memories you know." A voice came. 

Kagome gasps and turns around when she noticed it was the future Sesshomaru behind her. Kagome blushes as she had gotten a better look of him as she stared up at him. "I didn't mean too; I was brought here by this demon." She explained, as she rubs her arm. Sesshomaru sighs with a small frown as he looked down at her. "Yes, that would be my beast. He brought you here for some reason and I don't know." The future Sesshomaru said, as he looked at the memory, he had frozen. Kagome looked at the scene then back at him.

"Maybe you can explain what happened to have your beast trapped in the well?" Kagome offered. The future Sesshomaru leads her away from the scene to the sacred tree. She couldn't help but feel relaxed when she was here under the tree. Kagome sat down on the roots as she waited for him to start explaining what had happened. 

"The thing is I cannot remember what happened. All I have been doing is watching my memories trying to piece it together, but the moment I get close I get sent back to the beginning." He explains to her. Kagome frowns as she looked at the ground wondering why this was happening and what Naraku's end game was. "I do know one thing though that Naraku must be stopped, if he gets his hands on the sacred jewel in this time with his from the future it be deadly, and the future will cease to exist." Sesshomaru warned her. 

"Wait two sacred jewels, but with that much power no one would be able to withstand it not even Naraku." Kagome said, as she shot up from her seat with worried eyes. Sesshomaru nods as he walked over and gentle kisses her forehead. "I know you will figure it out, just keep the pups safe and stay out of his way." Sesshomaru warns her as he sent her back. Kagome gasps as she felt her falling again. "Wait who are you talking about?" Kagome yelled, as Sesshomaru disappeared from her sight. The darkness swallowed her as she fell through time again. Kagome groans when she landed on her back when she made it back to the future. She rubs the back of her head then slowly began to climb out of the well. 'Stay out of who's way? Does he mean that demon that warned me about Naraku?' Kagome thought as she heads to the house. There was a note on the door saying the family was away on a small trip to Kyoto and would be back soon. Kagome sighed as she grabs the spare key and unlocked the front door then heads inside. She went to the kitchen and smiles softly to see her mother left her some meals to warm up in case she had come back. 

Once she had showered, she was letting her meal warm up in the oven while thinking about future Sesshomaru's words and the demon that had warned her about Naraku. "Maybe Kikyo is one of Naraku's weaknesses too, but at the same time that would crush Inuyasha's heart for her to die again." Kagome mumbles, as she pulled her food out of the oven. She sat down and began to eat her food. Kagome was enjoying her food while thinking when she heard a knock to the door. She wondered who it could be as she went over. Once the door was open, she regrated it immediately when she saw who was standing in front of her. 

"Hello Kagome! You are looking better these days." Hojo said, with a bright smile. 

Kagome forced a smile as she nods while rubbing her arm as she was feeling very awkward around him.  "Hey Hojo, what's up? I wasn't excepting any visitors." She asked him. Kagome was trying so hard not to be rude as she honestly wanted to be home alone. Hojo smiles as he pulled out to tickets to the festival that was happening next weekend. "Yes, since your health has been getting allot better, I thought maybe we could go to the festival next weekend?" He offered while handing the tickets to her. Before Kagome could say anything, she noticed the hopeful look in his eyes. She cursed her kind heart sometimes as she gave him a tiny smile. "Sure, Hojo sounds great I will let you know if anything comes up before then." Kagome told him. Hojo smiles bright then nods while rubbing the back of his next. "Great! I will see next weekend on Friday." He told her, as he runs off while waving bye to her. Kagome waved goodbye then slammed the door shut while screaming in frustration as this just added more stress to her life. She heads to the kitchen to finish her dinner. 'Why does my life have to be so complicated?' Kagome thought as she continued to eat her food. 

Once Kagome was done, she had gone to bed with small frown. She laid in bed while staring up at the ceiling while playing with the half of the jewel she had around her next. Everything that had been going on had her mind running around in circles as she didn't know what to do or think about the whole thing. "Me mated to Sesshomaru in the future with pups as he calls them, Naraku working with himself from the future, Sesshomaru's beast was trapped in the well, and then Hojo asking me out. Ugh what am I going to do?" Kagome asked herself while biting her bottom lip. She began to wonder if she went on the date would Sesshomaru get jealous or even care that she did. She really wished her mother or Sango was here, so she had someone to talk to about it. Kagome sighed as she tries to clear her mind like Kaede taught her then began to fall asleep.
