17 and pregnant

Chapter 9

I could feel my eyes tearing up, so I closed them. Hunter grabbed my hand and squeezed.

"There it is!" The doctor said happily. "You look around 6 weeks."

"Wow. That's awesome." Hunter said, with the biggest smile that I have ever seen from him.

"Yes. The human formation is amazing, isn't it?" The nurse said, with a smile.

After some more baby chit-chat, We left, with our pictures and we went to my house, to show my dad the ultrasound photos. I made sure my mother wasn't there first, because I really do not feel like dealing with her crap today.

Hunter and I went into the house.

"Dad!? Are you here?!"

I heard the sound of a coffee cup being set on a table, then some foot shuffling. My dad walked into the entrance way.

"Hey Kiddos"

"Hey Dad"

My dad hugged Hunter and I a hug. Gosh, I miss seeing him every day.

"So, what brings you two here today?"

"We wanted to show you the ultrasound pictures we got taken today." I took the pictures out of my bag and he looked at them. He started to tear up. He pushed Hunter and I together and hugged us both. At this point, he was crying, which made me cry.

"I am so happy for you two.  But I cannot believe that my baby girl is having a baby."

"I know dad. I can barely believe it myself, but can we just keep this from mom? I do not want her in my child's life."

"I mean, it is not that we do not want her in the baby's life, it's just that she isn't supportive about any of this. Nothing Aria does is good enough for her, and I think Aria is better off without her mom right now, but that's just my opinion." Hunter said

My dad looked hurt.  "I completely understand where you guys are coming from. Your mom is just, not the same anymore. Aria, when you were a baby, she wouldn't let you out of her sight. She took you everywhere she had to go. I think that she doesn't want you to grow up. That's all. But she and I are taking a break right now; she is at her grandma's house for the rest of the week."

"Dad, I am sorry."

"Me too. I know that you wouldn't ask, but if you ever need us to help you with something. We will try our best."

"Thanks, kids. I love you both. I am so glad you are having a baby."

"Me too dad. I really appreciate everything that you are doing for us. I love you. You are the best dad I could ask for."

After we were done having this conversation, Hunter and I left to go to his house, well it is also my house too, now. We got there and Hunters mom gave me a huge hug.

"Let me see! Let me see! I have been waiting for you guys to come home for hours!"

Hunter and I laughed and I took the photos out of my bag and handed them to her. She started to laugh.

"Mom, what is so funny"

"I am just so happy for you two"

"Uhm. You can take one of the pictures and put it on the fridge if you want.."

"Yes, I will do that right now! "

Hunter and I got some food and went upstairs to his room. I changed from my sweatshirt and tights into a t-shirt of his and some basketball shorts. We got into bed, and right before I fell asleep, he whisper, I love you two and placed his warm hand onto my cold stomach.
