I backed up a few steps judging the distance between the net and the ball before running forward and shooting on Charles.

We're playing soccer, on the way to the field I held back with Gavin and chatted to Luke, he seemed to be unaffected by hunger and well, ordinary Luke. Inwardly I sighed of relief, not everyone was acting strange.

Before catching up to Charles and Gavin- who started to walk off, I said goodbye to them and I saw Aly walking towards us with George and ...Mack?  I thought that we didn't trust Mack, it least something along those lines.

Score! The ball slipped past Charles's hand and interrupted my thoughts.

"Ayo! That was a fluke nah bro, nah."

Charles grabbed the ball and drop-kicked it in my direction; I ducked as it flew by my head. He had a strong kick but you had to be careful with his aim.

"Hey,"

I turned around it was Aly and George. No Mack.

"What team can we be on?" Aly looked around at us, expectantly. George he- was he nervous? It didn't seem like it, more... Out of place.

"We aren't doing teams just shooting on Charles," I said pointing my thumb backwards at Charles and Gavin. "Let's do boys versus girls! Alright!"

Sure, we were outnumbered 3-2 but I could handle Gavin and George, assuming Charles stayed in net. Then Aly could block their shots. She was quick and nimble, suited the role.

George passed the ball to Gavin who advanced with it, I tackled it off  him and did a trick with the ball. An amazing trick called losing your footing while showing off.

He kicked the ball out of my range but I got hold of it again before he tackled it off me and shot at the net. This all happened really quickly,  but I still watched it like it was in slow-motion.

Aly blocked the ball easily.

"Nah, nah, nah, your dog water. You get in net I'll score."

Me and Gavin backed up, allowing Charles to shoot. The ball flew through the air, Aly wasn't paying attention. And then- wait-

"Aly-!"

I yelled out to her, just before she was hit square in the face by the ball. Drat, it least it didn't go in. I ran towards her kicking the ball out of my way as I did, "Aly, really?" I tried to joke lightly. There was a lot of blood.

"Man down!" George ran over, with Charles and Gavin following.

"I got her," I said, she looked like she had a painful headache. I helped her to her feet and she leaned on my arm while mopping up her bloody nose with a sleeve.

"I said I got her."

The others started to gather around us, a lot of words were said. Charles apologising and the other two watching, and moving around us. Eventually we got out of the soccer court, Aly walking on her own.

"Oh my god, what happened?" Luke jogged up to us concerned for Aly. "Was it Mack or Koen? Did they-?"

"I'm fine." Said Aly bluntly, blood still dribbling from her nose.

"No, you're not you doofus." I replied, don't get me wrong I was just as concerned as Luke, I just express it differently. Long story short I got Aly to the nurse's office, answered some questions and took one last look at Aly before noticing the time.

"Gah, how is already gym time! Aly work on getting better, me and Luke have to go to class." I followed Luke out to gym, explaining what happened and why.
