What is an android? Does the word "droid" mean the same thing?
An android is a robot that is meant to look like a human.
Androids are programmable but may not be able to carry out the same number of tasks a humanoid might be able to. The material and the shape of the androids may limit the number of tasks that they can perform.
At first, androids were thought to only exist in movies and cartoons. Now, with the technology humans have access to, we have made very realistic androids.
Droid means "robot" and especially refers to ones that look like humans.
Android sizes should be close to the height of a human since androids strive to look as similar to a human as possible.
