What is anthropomorphism?
Anthropomorphism is having human abilities, traits, characteristics but the individual has a non-human entity. (It doesn't necessarily have to be a robot.)
To better explain this concept, think of the movie Zootopia. The individuals in the movie all act like humans - but they are animals.
Personally, I haven't seen an anthropomorphic robot in real life. I mostly see them in movies, games, and read about them in books.
The tasks that anthropomorphic robots perform is not very clear, since they are still fiction. Most of the time they are used for violence or so show status. The reason why they are there is up to the creator.
The size of an anthropomorphic robot is up the creator.
