the blonde grins as his doorbell rings, his clock chiming five pm. "I'll get it!" he shouts, rushing downstairs and swinging the door open.

"Hey!" he grins at the brunette teenager behind it, who just rolls his eyes with a small smile. "Whatever. Show me the letters then."

Dream opens his mouth to reply but a shout behind George stops him, they both turn to see a very sweaty Sapnap grinning at them from where he rides down the street on his bike, hair plastered to his forehead under his helmet.

"Wait for me!" the ravenette yells, bike screeching to a halt next to his friends.

"I thought we kicked him out of the friendgroup?" George muses, watching Sapnap practically fall off his orange and red, firey bike.

"Its Sapnap." Dream grins in reply, as if that answered the question at all.

"Okay show me the horny guy." the youngest strides over to the door.

"Not horny!" Dream frowns, "in love."

Sapnap blinks at him, "same thing."

The blonde huffs but doesnt bother to retort, leading the two up to his bedroom. Its simple enough, with three white and one green wall, which his unmade bed is pushed up against. His desk sits opposite it, with a small box on top, and pens screwn all over it.

Sapnap gets over to it first, squinting at it as if it were the mona lisa. Its small-ish, probably just big enough to keep a stack of a5 sheets of paper inside. Its clearly old, the wood chipped and lock rusting, it almost looks piratey.

"You know the letters are inside?" the ravenette asks, reaching out a hand to stroke a careful finger against the lid.

"I've looked inside." Dream replies in a "no duh" voice. "Its so sad Sap.. Honestly you should read some of them."

Sapnap sends him a dumb-founded look, "uh yeah, im planning to. I'm not coming here to stare at a box then leaving." his remark earns him a playful slap to the shoulder, which he returns half-heartedly.

"I think its cheesy." George finally speaks, closing his best friends door and collapsing onto his bed. "I mean come on, writing letters to a love he cant have?! Please.."

"Your just a spoil-sport Gogy." Sapnap responds, sticking his tongue out at his friend, who ignores it and starts to play on his phone.

"My name is George!"

"Okay!" Dream interrupts, slowly opening the unlocked box. "There are nineteen letters in total, I've only read one.. it was the last one sent. Written by a friend of the lovers, look." he reaches in and grabs the first folded piece of paper on the pile and hands it to Sapnap, who unfolds it and narrows his eyes at the fading writing.

"Oh holy shit." the ravenette mumbles, "look at the date." he points to the hastily drawn 'July 27th 2059' in the corner, "that must have been like.. A hundred years ago!"

"Thirty, Sap." Dream huffs, "but read the rest."

"Okay.." Sapnap perches on the edge of the desk, clearing his throat.

"dear you," he reads, narrowing his eyes. "Who's 'you'?" he looks up.

"I dunno, its cool though right?" Dream grins.

"Sure Dré," the ravenette snorts, continuing, "Ponks dead, died in his sleep."

"Lovely so far." George interrupts.

Both friends ignore him.

"He deserved that. You're dead too, you deserve that."

"Seriously who the fuck is 'you'?!" Sapnap scowls, glaring at the paper, "cause I don't think we like them very much if they deserve to die."

"I don't like you very much does that mean you deserve to die?"

"Shut up George!" he glares, Dream trying not to laugh. "Whatever.."

"So who am I writing to? I guess whoever finds these can know the tragic story of you and your perfect soul.. Only love can hurt like this.

Sincerely, Foolish."

Its silent for a moment as the three boys ponder the words. "Wait.." George says finally, "I think.. I think 'you' is one of the lovers."

His friends blink at him blankly.

"Because it said 'the tragic story of you and your perfect soul' right?!" he continues, watching the others expressions.

"Holy shit.." Sapnap mumbles. "Your an idiot Dream, these arent love letters at all." he looks up, "these are revenge letters."

"Okay let's not go too far!" George snorts, Dream's eyes narrowed as he ponders the words.

The brunette stands up and wanders over to them, taking the letter out of his friends hand before sitting on the bed again.

"okay so the tale goes.. The guy killed himself because he couldnt be with his lover right?"

"Right.."

"And we all assumed thats 'cause they're gay and homophobia was a thing back then.."

"Right.."

"But what if... What if the guy did something like.. terrible and he couldnt be with his lover, so he killed himself out of guilt?"

Dream startles, looking up at George with wide eyes, "Gogy your a genius." he breathes, grinning down at the box again.

"My name is George, and yes, i am."

"Wait.." Sapnap scratches his head, "how does ones brain figure that out? Are you an Alien or sum' shit?"

George blanches, staring at Sapnap in confused horror "Lets just read the rest.." he says slowly.

"Yes!" Dream grins, already rummaging in the box, "lets!"
