Part one? You might be wondering what that means. Well I'm here to tell you! This chapter will be apart of a larger, overarching story that will span over multiple chapters. Unlike standard chapters which each have their own story unrelated from all other chapters, these multi part chapters will have connecting stories! With that out of the way, lets get this story going shall we?
Atago walked into the gear lab, called there to see a special piece of gear for her mission. Two other shipgirls, Belfast and Bremerton, were also in the gear lab waiting to see this new gear. "Oh, are you two here to see the new gear?" Atago asked as the other greeted her in. "Yeah. They said this was supposed to help us in our mission. I'm curious to see what we're gonna be given." Bremerton said. "Well, where is it?" Atago asked, looking around the room for the gear. "We had to wait for you to arrive before the gear was shown." Belfast said, looking towards a sealed case. The case had a keypad on it that required a code only Belfast knew. She began to type in the code and then unlocked the case. It opened up automatically and a screen turned on in front of them, beginning to play a video.
"Greetings ladies. The case before you contains your new gear that will assist you on your mission." They all looked into the case and saw three identical bodysuits. The video continued to explain what they were. "The suits you see are specially to fit your bodies only. They can withstand most types of damage meaning they will protect you from a variety of attacks. The suit is also capable of stretching great amounts to allow for maximum maneuverability, ensuring you can move around without being held back by normal clothes." They each grabbed their suits and inspected them. "In case you are separated from each other, you can get the precise location of anyone using the tracking devices built into each suit by using the remote included with the suits." Belfast saw the remote in the case and reached in to grab it. The remote was about the size of a phone and had a dial on the side of it, a decently sized screen, and a large red button on the front. "Huh..." Belfast pressed the button and the remote began to track the location of Bremerton's suit. The device in Bremerton's suit went off, beeping and rapidly flashing a dim light. Soon, the beeping stopped and they turned their attention back to the video.
"Now that you have seen your new gear, you will now be briefed on your mission." The video cut an image of an island. "The island you see has recently come to our attention as Siren activity has been spotted there. Your mission is to go there and learn what they are doing on that island. Scout out everything and then report back to HQ as soon as you are done. Good luck ladies..." The video ended and the screen shut off as the case automatically closed itself. "Well..." Bremerton said, looking at her suit. "That sounds easy enough..." Belfast set the remote down on a nearby table and went to go change into her suit. "We should probably get going." She said as she left the room. "Agreed." Atago answered, following Belfast out of the room.
2 Hours later
The calm ocean water glistened under the dim light of the moon. Atago, Belfast, and Bremerton glided across the water heading towards the island where the Sirens were supposedly at, dressed in their new suits. The island was beginning to appear from below the horizon as they drew closer to it. "There it is!" Atago called out. "Let's hope this goes smoothly!" Belfast said, hopeful for a quick and easy mission. They eventually made it to the island's shores and stopped on the beach, figuring out where to go next. In front of them was a thick tropical jungle that led inwards to the center of the mysterious island.
They began looking for clues along the beach before continuing into the jungle. They pushed through the thick foliage as they searched for anything Siren related. It was oddly quiet with the only sound coming from the trees, and the snapping of leaves and fallen branches under their feet. Not a single animal was to be heard anywhere. The trio had to be as quiet as they could, incase they happened to stumble across any of the Siren's operations. For two hours, the group wandered the island in search for any clues. However, they were unsuccessful... Tired from all the wandering, the group would find a place to set up camp and rest for the night.
