[ 5 ] - Mister Director Kang Ji Hoon

I remember seeing Director Kang's face as one of the many chairmen there during my ex-debuting, I remember seeing him with a clipboard along with a few other business people beside him. He always wore a black cap on his head despite having a suit at that time, and now he was dressed like a sketchy homeless man with that same funky grin he always had.

He was one of the few who looked happy when I debuted

I follow him over to the spot he gestured to and we both sat down at the table.

"So...uh, how are you doing? How have you been? You must be very shocked to see me here haha" he laughs nervously, I could tell he was a pretty shy person

"I've been alright" I replied in a polite and mature manner

He sighs "being an ex-debuter...."

The word "ex-debuter" sent a lodge through my stomach

"It's never officially happened before... And with your case, I've heard, you've been training with Bit Hit for 6 months but in the kpop industry for almost 4 years, which is a pretty long time"

"it must be really hard for you right now"

I nod

"but I hope you understand that this was for the sake of the company's image, which is on tremendous pressure right now"

I nod, staring down at my shoes

"I was really impressed with your performances and music during I-land though, seeing you on my tv every Thursday, you really do have talent" He speaks genuinely

"And if I could, I would offer you another debut position right now but as you can see, our company is very occupied at the moment" he paused

"but in the meantime I would love to give your talents a chance" He said

I immediately looked up at him, eyes opening wide

"you were recommended by Director Bang Shi Hyuk and Woozi Sonsaengnim, complementing your music producing skills."

"watch you on i-land, I would personally agree with them as well that you really do have a voice in music producing, at your age too, it's never been done"

"Duk seon-ah"

"Have you ever heard of ENHYPEN?"

I tilt my head "ehh.. I've heard of them, but I don't really know much about them"

"Over the past month, our ex-producer ...."

"who tragically committed suicide" he mumbled while looking around

"Was the music producer for ENHYPEN, he was working on their newest comeback that was supposed to come out in October"

"PANDORA's Debut!" I gasped

"yes, pandora's debut"

"Enhypen has always been known for their perfection and precision when it came to visuals, choreography, dance, and image. They are perfection" He continued

"The only thing lacking is the fact that they have skills, but they can't produce their own music now"

"We were planning on letting them one day but I guess we waited too long"

"Both skill-wise and marketing, I think you'd be perfect for this position. It may not be debuting, but it's definitely something to use your skills on"

"What do you say? Duk seon-ah? How would you like to make Enhypen the next big thing as the first 4th generation music producer?"

The alarm on my phone suddenly goes off, I'm rummaging through my pocket to turn it off

"Last call boarding flight to Toronto Canada" the PA announces through the airport

My heart is racing through my chest, this moment didn't feel real. Being offered another chance in the kpop industry that (may not be an idol like your desired dream) but a somewhat twisted version. After all, you have heard some of your I-land friends chuckling and fangirling about the bigshot ENHYPEN boys

Both my phone and the popsicle stick from before fall out of my pocket

7:05pm

Director Kang picks up the popsicle stick for me

With the popsicle stick in my hands, I noticed an engraving on the wooden flat stick

[ I did then what I knew how to do, now that I know better, I do better ]

I took a deep breath, not noticing the big smile on my face that's been there since he's complemented me

"I'll make Enhypen go down in history" I gave Director Kang Ji Hoon a determined grin on my face, so delighted that he's giving me another opportunity when I thought it was the end, to showcase my skills to the world, and the world would enjoy my skills.

I would work my ass off, as this honor of second chance was given to me.

I'm determined to be great.

"Whatever you say Producer  Lim Duk Seon" he chanted, with a proud expression on his face.
