EZRA

The next day, I woke up with the burning feeling on my back from the alcohol I poured on it. I'm a fucking ass for doing that, but the pain.. pain is what I've used it in my life. When I'm with Rachel, I don't feel the sense of a punch in the gut or the paining feeling because all I feel is joy and pure happiness, then I got an idea.

I drive to the grocery store to grab a couple of things, and I wouldn't say I like having leftovers or fast food; I need to cook regular food. Once walking into the store, I grab a cart and go up to the flower sections; I never in my life once thought twice bought silly flowers for a girl. I throw three big bouquets of roses to spread them around the apartment and three small bags of candles. I'm hoping to good god that I don't burn down the place with them.

...

Moments later, as strolling around the aisles to get food, I stop by the aisle with different kinds of cereals and crackers, move towards it until I see Abby in the corner of my eye, so I start moving quickly, but I hear my name being called out.

Fuck!

"Ezra! Ezra!" she keeps calling my name, and her hand pulls on my arm, "Hey! Don't pretend that you didn't hear me," she snaps, throwing the box of crackers on her basket filled with cheap vodka and beer.

I roll my eyes and sign, "I'm trying, so leave me the hell alone," I snap back, pull my arm away from her and start moving the cart, but she stops it, "What's your problem?" she asks with a smirk.

"Nothing, you're just a bitch, so goodbye," I state out and start walking away with my hands red from gripping the cart handle too tight, "How's Rachel? Are you two still tighter or had the little virgin move on?" she starts laughing, enough is enough, "Don't ever speak about her. Got that in your twisted brain of yours?" I yell out with my face close to hers.

Abby steps back, "Yeah, I got, so you don't want me to hear about, you know what?" she threatens me in the most devilish way she can. I yell, slamming my hand against a metal shelf to cause a small dent in it, "Why not?" she shrugs her shoulders, "It's not like you are falling in love with her?" she points out, and I  scratch the back of my head without a word. Every time I heard about that, it felt like a knife through my heart and chills in my spine, "Don't you fucking dare tell her?"

She gasps, "You do love her, now I have to tell her that you made a.."

"STOP IT," I yell out, slamming my hand harder in the metal shape that collapses onto the floor with broken glass bowls and plates. The shattered pieces of glass on my boots and floor with the metal shelf now have a considerable hand dented.

I'm entirely fucked as the income speaker calls out, "Security on aisle seven and eight." I better get out of here before I'm in cuffs; I look around to check for security, " What are you looking for? Make sure you don't get sent out in cuffs," Abby jokes.

"Fuck you! I'm getting out of here," I spit out, walking behind her, leaving my groceries behind; I'm so pissed that she has to ruin my surprise and bring that up; what is with everyone bringing it up?

...

I'm running back to my car before cops come and find me, I glanced at my knuckles, and it's bloody from the glass. Once I'm inside my car, I don't bother cleaning up my hand. I was just driven to get away from the store; I wanted to do something nice for Rachel, but I couldn't do anything without anyone butting in or me punching someone or something.

As driving around town, I see a flower store, and I pull into the parking, and I swear to god if I see anyone I know and hate, I'm going to lose it. I walk in; there's a wall of different colors of roses right away.

"Welcome back!" someone says behind me; I turn around and jump, "You scared me," I say, it's the Santa Clause look like from the first time I came here, "Sorry sir, I remember you, I mean I remember faces," he asks as pushing his glasses to look at my face, "Okay. Do you happen to have big bouquets of roses," I ask and look around the shop for anything else I might need, "Yes, sir, follow me," he told me when guiding me towards the back of the store?

After paying thirty bucks for roses at the flower shop, I get in my car and start to find a dollar store or something to get candles for the special surprise and only for Rachel... my Rachel.
