THE QUEEN OPENED THE CURTAINS, ALLOWING THE BRIGHT SUNSHINE IN. It was a lovely morning. With the sunlight shining directly on Jake's face, Jake had finally woken up only to shut his eyes because of the blinding light.

"Jaeyun! you have to get up, the meeting will be held today."

Annoyed. Jake hid under his covers.

The Queen sighed loudly, looking at her son. Jake could sense that he was getting on her nerves. "Why do I need to attend that absurd meeting?" Jake mumbled, still half asleep.

The Queen walked over to Jake's bed, yanking the cover off of Jake's body and tossing it across the room. Jake shivered, it was unreasonably cold. He brought his knees to his chest and hugged them to warm himself up, but it was useless.

The Queen glared at Jake who was laying on his bed in a fetal position. Seeing that scary glare, Jake instantly got out of bed and stood in front of his mother.

"You really need to get in the habit of waking up early," she said sternly, making sure Jake was paying attention. Jake nodded, but he knew her words were going in one ear and out the other.

"Next time I'll have the maids drag you out of bed." Jake's eyes widened. The Queen smirked, knowing that would humiliate Jake for the next century.

"King Park asked for you to also attend." She continued, "His son will be there as well if that makes you feel better."

Jake's eyes widened, "King Park...? Wait do you mean-"

"Yes. The King of the North," The Queen interrupted Jake.

Jake raised an eyebrow. "What does he want?" Jake walked over to his closet, seeing if there was anything decent to wear.

"Me and your father don't know," she shook her head, "but hopefully all goes well."

Jake was confused. How could they allow vampires into the South? "How do you know if they don't have bad intentions?" Jake furrowed his eyebrows, glancing back at his mother.

"Jaeyun. We'll have high security. Nothing will go wrong—at least we hope," She continued, "Don't bother looking for clothes, the maids will dress you." Before Jake could get another word out The Queen left the room. Jake decided to do his morning routine before the maids got to his room.

"Your Highness, you will be leaving soon. Is there anything else you need?"

Jake turned around, "Lottie! I told you to stop calling me that. You know I hate to be called 'Your Highness,'" Jake cringed.

The maid, Lottie, laughed."I know, I know." She smiled, "but I have to. You're royalty afterall."

"Lottie, you're like my second mom. You've been more of a mom to me than my actual mom." Jake continued, "You've been with me my entire life, can't you just lay off on the titles?" Jake looked at Lottie with puppy eyes.

"Jaeyun, you really never change." Lottie chuckled. Jake's eyes lit up, "Could you say that again!" Jake smiled widely.

"You have to leave now." Lottie dismissed Jake's request and gestured to him to walk out of his room.

He grabbed his phone before dragging himself out of his room. Jake turned around to look at Lottie, "Just one more time...Please?" Lottie shook her head no. Jake frowned.

As Jake walked down the corridor, he browsed the internet. On each social app he went on, suspicions about the meeting with King Park were trending.

"Get your face out of that phone before I take it from you," Jake looked up to see his father, King Sim. "Now. Get in the car." Jake put his phone in his pocket before making his way to the car.
