There's a banner reading Movie in the Square Presents Gone With the Wind. Some girls are dressed up for the event. Elena, Jeremy and I are walking through the square. I feel weird ever since I woke up yesterday I'm starting to forget things. Like this morning Damon asked what I meant last night and I had no idea that I even said something or later just before we went to the park hw asked me if I liked the breakfast and I couldn't remember what I had. Apparently I had pancakes how can I forget that. Or later on Jeremy asked me to go with them to watch the movie Gone with the wind. I have no idea what's ut about but they say we saw it like 5 times already. I'm not sure what's going on but I'm pretty certain it has something to do with the dagger that Klaus stabbed me with.
"You brought me to see a girl movie" Jeremy asks with a tone that literally says are you serious.
"We had to get out of the house, Jer. This is our three-hour distraction from reality" Elena tells him.
"Is that what we're doing? Pretending like our lives aren't screwed?" He says and I place a hand on his shoulder.
"We need to do this, okay? Breathe, eat, sleep, wake up, and do it all over again until one day, it's just not as hard anymore" Elena tells him. I just listen to the conversation quietly.
They unfold a blanket and put it on the ground. Caroline arrives with a couple of baskets and places them in the middle of the blanket. So now we're eating out. Great.
"Hey! There you guys are. Who's hungry?" Caroline says cheerfully. Does she ever loose her optimism.
"I feel like I'm starving"I say and reach for the basket.
"Are we really doing this?" Jeremy asks us.
"Yes, we are really doing this. We are going to take a page from Scarlett. We made it through the war" She tells us and kneels down on the blanket.
"I know you guys went through hell, and my mom knows I am a vampire, so basically it's like Atlanta has burned. And yet, in spite of everything, we persevere" Caroline tells us still trying to stay on the positive side.
"All right"Jeremy sigh's and sits down next to us.
"What are we eating?"He asks and I point to my mouth that id already stuffed with some berries and a cake.
"Okay got it" Jeremy says and even smiles a bit. Older sister mission successful. Stefan joins us.
"Hey" He greets us smiling.
"Hey! Look who couldn't resist an epic romance" I tease the vampire.
"Rose will you take a walk a with me" I look at Elena who has sad smile on her face and slowly encourages me. I get up and walk towards Stefan.
"I'm breaking the rules, you know. Movie night's supposed to be a distraction. Tomorrow we can return to our regularly scheduled drama" I say to him trying to lighten the mood a little.
"I know. I wish this could wait, but it can't. Listen, um, the other night when you and Damon were helping Tyler, he......he lied. Damon lied that night. He got bitten by Tyler.
"What? No. No. Stefan. No." I start to panic and pace around.
"Rose, Rose calm down. You're powering up" he tells me and I look at the reflection in the nearby water stand. To see my eyes glowing and my hair starting to get white.
"What's happening. This never happened before"I say and take a few breaths to calm down. I open my eyes to see Stefan nodding.
"He told me not to tell you, but I figured if you wanted to talk to him, I...I wouldn't wait" He tells me.
