Reunion...reuniting with a loved one. A very beautiful word indeed but what if its not beautiful as what the meaning of the word held?
Zack didnt actually died 4 years ago...he survived miraculously and he successfully saved Cloud and himself from the ambush. His heart finally can relax once he sees Midgar while Cloud's on his shoulder. How long was he gone working? He has been deployed with Angeal when he was 16 — now that he's 23, its been 7 years working that it finally pays off.
His mind races, there's alot of things he want to do when he sees Midgar but the first thing he thought of was you. What is he going to say? Its been 7 years since he was gone, have you moved on from him? What does he need to do once he see you again after so long. Pushing his thoughts away, he needs to find medical help for Cloud first. Meeting up with you can wait, afterall — he's not going anywhere now that his mission is a success.

After stopping by Shinra, exchanging words and hellos followed by a pat on the back from his coworkers — he decided to rush to your place after seeking medical help for Cloud. There was your house, he stood right infront of the door as he gets anxious. Will you be mad at him for not keeping in touch for 7 years or will you welcome him back with the sweetest smile and a hug. Only one way to find out, he starts mumbling to himself what is he going to say that it made his mind racing to find a cheerful way to announce his return.
Without any hesitation, he opens the door followed by a greet from him, "Hey, Im back!", his heart races — expecting to see you at the kitchen or the couch but instead, he was welcomed with silence. It feels very empty that it's eerie except for the things that was left in the house. 'Maybe they're busy...probably still working at this hour', he thought. Without further thinking, he decided to clean anything that he found dirty anywhere and oh boy, its going to be alot of chores he's doing.
He noticed the laundry bag overflowing with dirty outfits, dishes on the sink that the stains is rotting and when he checks in the fridge, the food is already rotten. Zack wonder what's up with you, ever since he entered the house there's no signs of life nor you, all it was left with dust and grimes. 'Maybe they're away for quite a long time for work...? I hope its not because of me that they're drowning themselves with work...', he thought again in his mind. He doesnt want to let his guard down yet so he decided to just clean up, get some groceries and just wait for you to return because he finally sent a message to you that he has returned. He knew that if he sent you a message you would check it out as fast as you could.
He waited until the sun went down and youre still not home. He was getting impatient, he's scared that you might've moved on so he rushes outside and went to every single places that he went with you until finally he reached a place where you guys would stargaze, you werent there. He turns around and finally resorting to going through Sector 7 and ask around. Every single place and person he asks all they did was to look at him confused while telling him that there's absolutely no one living in Sector 7 with the name, (Y/n). He thought they're joking until he reaches out his phone to call you while while going back to your home — when he reached there however, he saw your phone underneath the couch ringing.
With a heavy heart he takes your phone underneath the couch that he's already thinking things negatively that maybe something happened to you that he didnt know. He's going to find you. He will.
