It didn't take long before the Serpent Hashira went back to a stable state where he is able to fight and take on missions by himself again
The relationship between the Frost Hashira and the Serpent Hashira has been maintained well and carefully
The two of them shared a lot of memories together, and has been showing affections here and there
Due to their roles and responsibilities, they have learnt to treasure each other more than ever
For example
Last week, when the Frost Hashira returned from her mission at midnight, the Serpent Hashira was immediately wakened - his senses became extra sensitive when she is not around
Knowing that she must be exhausted, he gave her the snacks that he prepared beforehand, and while she is eating, he prepared a bath for her, making life much easier for her
After she did her night routine, he had his arms wide open in which the she accepted gladly, sneaking into his arms under the blanket, and fall asleep straight after
It was the most peaceful sleep that the girl had in days
Being as caring as Obanai, he triple checked that she is covered in warmth, and made sure that there is absolutely no injuries whatsoever, before wondering off to the dreamland himself
Of course, the Frost Hashira does the same when it comes to the Serpent Hashira
For example,
When it was their 3 months anniversary, she organised a series of events that had completely melted the heart of the Serpent Hashira, and made him fall for her more that he already had
She found out that Obanai has been sent out on a mission and will only return the day before their anniversary, knowing he must've be tired when he comes back, she took over the role planning the day
Hence the reason for Obanai to wake up to a series of unexpected but delightful events
First, she was the one that made the breakfast, everything was Obanai's favourites, her cookings has always been adored by the Serpent Hashira
After breakfast, the girl rushed the Serpent Hashira out of the Demon Slayer Headquarter, heading to a flower field that they both wanted to go for a long time but never had the chance to
Hands intertwined, they enjoyed themselves in the gentle breeze of spring, in the field of dandelions
Needless to say how stunned Obanai was, upon her elegance once more
The wind brushing against her hair, her eyes fluttered close enjoying the moment to herself while the flower petal of the sakura tree softly falls on her hair and shoulder
Obanai could never emphasise how much he loves her
He went towards her and hugged her tight from behind, taking her calming scent all to himself
He loves the way she leaned back to him, chuckling sweetly as she placed her hands above his
Both of the Frost Hashira and the Serpent Hashira preferred something calm when they go out together, therefore enjoying themselves in a field of flowers, just on their own, is the most ideal
After their little time to themselves, they returned to the Demon Slayer Headquarter, to the Frost Estate where they made dinner together and cuddled through out the evening, enjoying their 3 months anniversary
These little things is what kept their bond strong and unbreakable
In other words, the unconditional love they have for each other
Because of the love, they always have the aim to return alive when they are on a mission, for they know they will live for each other
Because of the love, they are willing to change for each other, whenever they argue, rather than having cold wars they always choose to talk things out when both of them calmed down
Because of the love, they accepted the themselves, the accepted themselves to be valuable for each other
Everything happened, because they love each other
Right now, the two are sitting on the wisteria tree in the Frost Estate, where the most memorable part of their own story began
After a whole day of proper training, the girl can't be asked to do anything, so she just cuddled up to the Serpent Hashira, for his presence is the way she relaxes
Obanai simply circled his arm around her body, pecking her cheeks ever so often, his head resting on the top of her head as the two of them enjoyed the peace to themselves, watching the sunset together
The two of them shared a comfortable silence, their breathing and heartbeat are the only sounds that can be heard
However, this silence was soon interrupted by a pair of flipping wings, notifying the arrival of crows
Without leaving the boy, the Frost Hashira looked up to see both hers and Obanai's crow landed on the branch next to them
"To the Frost and Serpent Hashira"
The two crows spoke up at the same time, delivering the same messages
"North, to the North, to the Entertainment district to support the Sound Hashira, Tengen Uzui, in battle against the Upper Moon Six, please leave immediately"
Upon the announcement of the mission, we shared a glance before quickly getting back to our feet
Tengen Uzui is not weak, neither is Upper Moon Six
It never hurts to try to get to him as soon as possible
Taking off running at the exactly same time, the two ran alongside each other
"This is the time we take revenge for not killing the Upper Moon Four last time"
The boy said, as the two starts to speed up
"Together, make sure to remember every detail of it"
The girl replied, with a firm tone
"Of course, I'm telling our children about it in the future"
Both of them smiled upon the thought of their potential future, which instantly became another reason for them to fight alongside each other, together
The two exchanged a final nod before entering the entertainment district, searching for the Sound Hashira
I will return, for him
I will return, for her
