Hi!! Sorry if the last chapter was a bit bad... I'm honestly questioning if any of this has made sense. I apologize if it doesn't, this is my first book and I'm more focused on in the moment things and not the book in it's entirety. Anyways lol, enjoy this next chapter!!!

"Report, Lady Elizabeth." The King said from his office chair.

"We have made plenty of progress. Giovani has been working hard, I'm sure he'll be ready for tomorrow." I tell the King, only letting him know the basics. That's all he needs to know.

"Spend you're last day with him, push him past his limits. We want to be able to expand them so he may be a firm leader." The King nods his head approvingly.

"Dismissed." He simply said, returning to his paperwork.

I walked out of his office silently. Heading to Gio's room to find clothes, luckily he had brought me some. I throw on grey sweatpants and a white cropped tee quickly putting my hair into a messy bun before rushing outside.

When I reached the training field I saw Giovani staring at me.

"You're late again." He laughed. I was late everyday.

"Come on Vani, we're gonna do something different today." I say, grabbing his hand to pull him after me as I ran to the tree line. I guide him down a grassy path, barely paying attention for I was too distracted by his smile.

Suddenly his laughing turns into silence. I finally see it up ahead. A calm waterfall, surrounded by a field of flowers shaded by tall oak trees. In the middle of the field there was a white picnic blanket, a few lanterns, and a basket.

"Awe, what's all this?" He asks, a warm smile and light blush slowly creeps onto his face.

"It's a picnic." I deadpan in a duh tone. He playfully pushes me before turning to me with a straight face.

"What about training?" He asks slightly worried I smile, silently guiding him to the blanket.

"We leave tomorrow. I find it's always better to take the last day off."

He thinks for a second, letting my words sink into his brain. Then he looks to me as I pull out a bin of strawberries. "Okay fine." He pretends to debate it.

I hold up a strawberry and he opens his mouth. I toss the berry and, just like the many times before, he caught it. I missed this. I'm glad we can have this moment of familiar peace before we enter a world of chaos and uncertainty.

It felt like ages that we talked and laughed. By sunset my head was in his lap as he used his hands to hold him steady. A book in my hand as I read from 'The Complete Works of William Shakespeare.' A wonderful book in my opinion.

I glanced at Giovani, expecting him to have his eyes closed enjoying the book like he usually is. But instead I meet his eyes as we stare at each other. His eyes going soft as I admire his features.

"We should probably head back to the castle, we have an early morning." My words barely above a whisper as I continue to get lost in his eyes.

Usually I'm not one for sappy things. But as I stare into his dark brown eyes, my heart cant help but grow. For each second I fall deeper into his spell, unable to control the emotions that swirl in my head. The color such a romantic and cozy shade slowly takes its place as my favorite color.

"Yea... probably..." Giovani whispers out no louder than I, for he too was lost deep within my eyes. For a second I though for sure he felt the things I did. But suddenly his eyes dropped down, his face falling.

He got up without a word, silently offering his hand to help me up. "Let's get back." He says blankly.

I help him pick up our mess, leaving the field as if we were never there. I get rather confused when he stays ahead of me, refusing to talk to me. I tried to start many conversations, only to be shut down again and again. I have no idea what I did.

When we arrived at the castle, me and Gio parted ways. He went to his room and I went to the kitchen. I made my own tea, I didn't like bother the staff with my needs. Plus, I like my tea recipe better.

With my warm tea in hand I slowly make my way to the library. I can still remember the many winters I spent cuddled up next to Vani on the couch next to the fireplace. We spent all of our time in here, falling asleep on almost all the couches and reading almost every book. We were so happy. I wish I could go back to that.

I sit on the couch in front of the fireplace, clicking a remote to start the fire. As it grew I got cozier with my blanket, grabbing my favorite book from the coffee table. Smiling at the bookmark halfway through it.

I placed the book back on the table and snuggled into my blanket, letting my body relax at the warmth of the fire. I felt so cozy and at peace, not a single thought entered my mind. It was just me and the silence. I started to doze off a bit.

Suddenly Giovani is tapping me. "Scoot over Vani." He whispers. I scoot over on the couch and he lays down beside me, his face only around five inches from mine. I noticed it was now dark, the only light in the whole library was the fireplace.

"I'm sorry for walking away so rudely earlier... I had to say goodbye to my parents, and I had so much to think about-" He continued to ramble on. A childlike pout covered his face as he explained everything on his mind.

"Vani, it's okay." I say, stopping his rambling. "It's okay. You did nothing wrong, don't worry about it." I soothed him, placing my hand on his cheek rubbing my thumb back and forth.

"Elizabeth, I'm scared." He says looking at my hand grabbing it away from his face and intertwining our fingers. I looked down at our hands, a warm feeling filling my body.

"I know, Giovani. But we're gonna be okay. I'll keep us safe." I say trying to reassure him. I use my free hand to put my blanket of the both of us, then I wrap my arm around his waist trying to urge him to come closer.

He movies closer, I move my leg trying to get comfortable. Suddenly Giovani pulls me half way on top of him. "Now stop moving." He whispered.

I could feel his breathe on my neck. My whole body lights on fire when I suddenly feel a soft kiss being place on my collarbone. I let out a soft breathe, releasing all the tension in my body.

I snuggle into his neck, wanting another kiss. "Use your words, love." He teases me, hovering his lips over my skin. His breathe setting every nerve on fire.

Two can play that game. I suddenly sit up moving to straddle him. His eyes looking up at me soaking in every inch of my body. His hands comes to my waist rubbing up and down my hips as I lean forwards. I place my hand on the side of his head helping me balance as I hover close to his face.

Bringing my free hand up, I place my hand on his cheek. Breaking my eye contact to glance at his lips. He tried to move up to meet my lips, but my position allowed me to keep him still.

"Use your words, love." I smile, making my voice go deeper as to mock his tone. He lets out an airy chuckle before swiftly sitting up, gracefully guiding my arms around his neck. His hand finding it's place on my back, his other coming up to my neck grabbing it and choking me softly.

My eyes light up, a small smile appearing on my lips. His face was now closer than before but he couldn't bring himself to kiss me. I could feel his deep breaths, his hand on my back started rubbing a bit. Awe, he's fighting the urge to kiss me because he's a gentleman. How sweet.

I place my hand on his cheek. "Kiss me, Gio." I say in a whisper.
