After I had said goodbye to Sebastian, I headed back home. The sun was going down and I couldn't wait for tomorrow. I walked through the double doors that lead into my manor and headed upstairs to my room. As I was turning the corner I bumped into mey rin. She was carrying a large pile of sheets but dropped them all when I collided with her. "I- I'm so sorry, lady Y/N.." she said, picking up the sheets on the floor. "Oh! It's all right Mey-Rin! I'm so sorry I bumped into you! Let me help you pick up these sheets." I said, kneeling down and picking up sheets, folding them. "T-thank you My Lady, but you really don't need to do this!" She said, flustered. "Oh it's no trouble at all, mey-rin, I have nothing else to do right now anyway.." I said as I put a pile of folded sheets into the basket.
Once we had picked up all the sheets and put them into two baskets, we headed to the washroom. "Follow me this way Ms. Y/N!" Mey-Rin said as she led me to the washroom. I had never been to the washroom, I know, surprising since I live here, but I didn't wander into the servants quarters very often. Mey rin led me to a brown door, she pushed it open. There were two large bins, probably for holding water, and three washboards. I set down my basket on a bench, Mey-Rin did the same. "Thank you Ms. Y/N! You may leave now if you wish, I can take care of it by myself, yes I can!" She said, "No Mey-Rin! Let me help. There's so much to wash, and it's the least I can do" I said, determined. "A-Alright, if you insist.." she said, hesitantly. I grabbed a shirt and a washboard, filled a bin with water and soap, and got to work. After a while of sitting in silence, washing clothes, Mey-Rin spoke up. "My Lady, I don't mean to impose, but a couple nights ago I was passing by your room, I had just finished my chores, yes I had, and I was on my way to bed. I heard you speaking to someone, yes I did, it sounded like a man...who was he?" she asked, hesitantly. I froze. How much did she hear?? "Oh- I- If I tell you will you promise not to tell anyone else..?" I asked. "Off course, my lady!" She said, "His name is Sebastian, Sebastian Michaelis. He's my.." I hesitated, "My lover." I said. I turned to her, and saw that her entire face had turned red. "O-oh my, lady Y/N, I'm sorry for imposing, I should've kept my mouth shut, yes I should've.." she said, looking away. "No, it's quite alright Mey-Rin.. you see, I can't talk about him with anyone, and being able to tell you, it feels nice." I said. "I trust you and I know that you won't tell anyone." "H-how did you meet him??l" she asked. "It was at my birthday ball, he asked me to dance, and after I had a drink with him. I've never met a person like him before, you could almost say he was... of another world. Anyway, after the party I couldn't stop thinking about him. I saw him a couple days later in town, that's when he kissed me for the first time.. he came to visit me here a couple more times, I feel like I've known him for such a long time, and I count the minutes until I get to see him again.." i finished. "Oh my! He sounds amazing!" She said, "He really is...I plan to see him tomorrow at the ball.. I can't wait until then!" I said. "I hope that tomorrow is everything you hope it will be! Yes I do!" She said, "Thank you!" I said, as we finished washing the last of the shirts. "Well! I think that's the last of them!" I said, standing up and straightening my dress. "Thank you so much for your help, my lady!" Mey rin said, also standing and pushing up her large round glasses. "Thank you for letting me talk to you about Sebastian, I know I can trust you not to tell anyone" I said, smiling. "Of course, your secret is safe with me!" She said, saluting. I laughed. "I should go and get ready now, goodbye Mey-Rin!" I said, walking out the door. "Goodbye, my lady!" She said. I headed up to my room to get dressed. It was almost time for the ball, almost time to see him. I hope all goes as planned.. I thought, as I headed to my room.
