The third more serious concussion happened when I was alone though I was able to keep it a secret. I had to cut the tall thick malunggay branch. Using a saw I cut part of the thick bottom. I used a long stick to bring the branch down as I stood in the concrete porch. When I could not budge it I pulled harder and harder to no avail. When I unwittingly pulled too hard without meaning to the branch give way so I fell on my back hitting my head hard on the cement floor.
I lost consciousness but when I came to I even laughed to find I was still alive. After feeling two familiar bumps in my head I finished the work. I harvested the malunggay flowers and fruits and put the branch in a corner of the yard. It took a month for the bumps to heal as I went about my usual work at home. I did not miss any of my Wednesday work in the community newspaper of my eldest son.
