Comets of Chaos part 9

[Breeze's POV]

It's late at night here at the hospital, in Aires' room. The girls are sleeping next to each other. Probably tired from all that chasing. Sigh, where are those glowing orbs anyways. You slouch your body to Aires' bed. Why can't you wake up already? Everyone's worried about you. Aside from her mother you're worried the most too. Considering that your friend is in a hospital bed and hasn't woken up since you got here. You're really concerned. Impatient. Like you want to shake her to wake up. But what if it'll make it worse. What if she doesn't wake up at all? You groan on the sheets in frustration.

Your ears twitch. You look up. Her hair floats from an inexisting air. Her eyes open with a pupil less bright glow. Her bangs glowing in yellow. You perk up in excitement but feel something coming. The seven orbs crash in from the window, waking up the couple from their sleep. They found us!

You jump up on her bed. "You're not getting Aires this time!" You block her. "Girls!"

Maria snatches two from the air while the rest get hold by Platine with her psychokinesis. Aires gets up.

"Don't worry Aires, we got them now." You grin.

"No Breeze it's fine." She said.

"Huh?" You turn in confusion. The two orbs that Maria was holding slipped their escape. The rest moves out of the cyan aura with no effort. They all fly past you. You snap back to see Aires floating above her bed, surrounded by the seven Chaos Comets. You call out her name. No response. And burst straight out of the room. The three of you surprised. You immediately run after them. The two following behind.

Aires flies through the hallway, fast. But you're faster. You quickly catch up to her, almost to your reach. She looks back and boosts forward. It slowed your pace as she flew twice as fast. We can't be doing this again. You carry on. Maria and Platine matching your pace. Aires spirals up the stairs and you follow. She's going to the roof! I need to stop her!

A burst of the door, she's already on the roof. Floating up, you grab her by the feet.

"Aires don't go!" You wail.

She looks down at you but continues to float up. Your feet takes off from the ground but Maria takes a hold of it. A cyan aura surrounds you and Aires, Platine is using her psychokinesis to drag you both down. You feel confident. There's no way she's getting away at this point.

Aires looks back at you with an emotionless stare. She burst out a wave of flames, dissipating the cyan aura. Losing your grip, you fall on Maria. You quickly get off her and commands Platine to use her powers again. She does exactly that, covering her in cyan aura again. Aires stares blankly at you. You show your desperation in your eyes, hoping she could see it. Calling her, telling her to get back down, hoping she could hear it. But she just looks back up, and continues to rise up. Unbothered by Platine's hold. You agape in disbelief. Her head bandage falls down.

"Where is she going?" Maria asks. You look beside where Aires is heading and... what is that? A sparkle of light that seems to be growing. You squint only to see a flame. A rock covered in flames. A meteor.

[Bony's POV]

The rest of you are telling everyone to get away from here. Run while they still can. You're with Iyro and Furr, in the middle of the open treeless part of the forest.

Furr keeps track of the meteor's status and distance while Iyro calls in for back-up and you call in Sonic and the others. Still, Nobody seems to be responding right now. Why are they busy at this time! You think maybe it's another Eggman shenanigan or something bigger, farther, that they can't see the meteor heading your way. There's not enough time to wait for back up and do nothing. The military and even G.U.N already made attempts to blow up that thing but only few support came, barely even destroying it. You're expecting some kind of missile soon but still nothing.
