Comets of Chaos part 11

[Iyro's POV]

You all witness an explosion in the sky. Less of an impact than you've expected. It's like watching a big firework blast in the sky. The sky is clean. The Meteor is destroyed, it's no more! But where's Aires?

But then you see... something falling from the clouds. Shooting down like an asteroid. You and Bony gasp. Aires is falling!

You check it on Furr's computer. It is her. She's falling faster.

"We have to catch her!" Bony exclaimed. You look up. The comets are following her. You scan the surroundings, the distance, where she could possibly land.

"Don't worry Bon" you pat her on the shoulder. "I'll catch her." You run towards where she's heading.

Going through the forest, you pinball yourself through the trees, leaving straight orange trails. You can run but this is the fastest way you can go. You stop and look past the leaves above. She's closing in. Time to hurry.

But you hear a thump. You stop. Gasp. I'm too late. You still rush out of the forest and there she is. You can see smoke coming from a small crater. The comets glows inside and flies around it like flies. You assumed the comets made her fall more softer. It's good enough.

You come closer. The smoke clears out to reveal her. Unconscious. Injured. Her dress has burnt marks, and so are her hands. Covered with black ashes. Burns. And so is her face. You can tell where the cracks were, and so are the ashes in the side of her eyes. Your breathing is getting abnormal, you kneel down to her quickly.

You hold her in your arms. Trying to wipe the ashes on her tired eyes. Oh Aires you've been through so much. It pains you to see your daughter like this all burned, all worn out by this fate you set on her. But you didn't know it would pass on. You didn't know the Comets would go for her too, make her do this.

You lean in your head to hers. Your eyes are starting to sting.

Sorry sorry. Is what you say in your head.

You want to blame the comets but no, you only blame yourself for having this power. This burden that you had to share with her. You want to keep it to yourself, take it away from her so she won't get hurt, but you can't.

You can hear Bony and Furr coming out of the forest behind you. The three girls arriving from another patch as well. You can't let her see this. But you hear a gasp. All of their gasp. She calls her name, you can feel the pain in her voice. I'm sorry Bon.

"Iyro?" You look up to her, a face showing grief and her, lying lifeless in your arms. Her face turned into shock, pupils shrunk, her eyes already streaming with tears and mouth drooped to its lowest. She falls on her knees. You carefully let her hold Aires.

Her face is still in disbelief, breathing heavily. Looking at her with extreme pain as she starts to soften. Tears began flowing more and more, flooding her eyes. She couldn't hold the tears anymore. She hugs Aires tightly, letting the tears flow more.

It pains for you to see her cry like this. But this is probably the lowest you've seen her cry. She's in agony at this point. The spikes in your heart stab you deep, leaving unhealable cuts. But you know hers is punctured already but it's still kept coming, stabbing her, hurting her. Add that to yours.

She starts wailing and calling her name. You can't do anything but watch, but what else would you do? Your daughter is lifeless in your partner's embrace! Do something stupid! But you already know you can't do too much. Furr looks away, trying not to burst too. The girls are in pain, crying too, especially Breeze. Clutching Maria while she hugs her, Platine too.
