The Drought In My Heart

Anshu watched, scared, as a tortured Jiti was carried to a white bed while Cassandra and Fred were desperately trying to clean the wound with a laced towel. The blood wouldn't come off, and Jiti was writhing, full of suffer. "I don't know, I don't know what's going on Gayatri, but it won't come off!" Cassandra said, crying hard. Meanwhile, Mahi, Aria, and Arika had hurriedly teleported to the healing section in the library and found a book all about the Black Mark. "Listen to this, Cassandra, Jane! The Black Mark is a dark stage where a said subject injures a living thing with weaponry created by very, very, evil magic. When you do that, the organism comes into a painful state of mind and eventually becomes CURSED! Examples: Bloodthirsty vengeance, mutant bodies, and...losing of body parts," Mahi said, hope dropping with every word. "I think we have to search the library for a cure or at least something to ease it for a while. Mittu, what the heck are you doing?!" Kuttu said, desperate. Mittu was not in a very good state of mind. She was climbing outside the Boundless to help Gagana fix the engine. The four-year-old had transformed into a tiny mouse and carried a pair of scissors. Nandini was with Danske, ready to reactivate the engine. She had her hands on all the switches and buttons, and the driver was being scared for all of them. "Ah'm so scared! Blimey, mam, if we don' survive, tell me children I love 'em." He whispered. "PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER! Mittu can do this!" Nandini yelled, and (surprisingly!) gave the man two.hard.SLAPS. "Gagana! I'M LOOKING THROUGH THE MANUAL. YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW FOUR STEPS! LISTEN REALLY CAREFULLY. We're um, playing Simon Says!" Mittu shouted out.

"Okay Flowery! Whats I do?" "Say the words Mende quod victus est." "MENDA QUODA VICTUSISI ESTI!" A shout cried out somewhere inside the engine. For a moment Mittu was scared she'd pronounced it wrong, but instantly some of the broken gears started reattaching themselves. Gagana was fascinated by the sight and her mouse-eyes went large. "Next, there'll be a gear that's gold, like shells on the beach, Gagana. Tap on it two times!" Gagana tapped a rather small gear with a shade of gold like something you'd find on a shell. The broken wires mended themselves after that, revealing to her a cyan wire right in the centre. "If you find a cyan wire, congratulations! Now to mend the motor take those scissors and cut the cyan wire. It means blue, Gagana!" The manual said about the third step. "Oki!" Gagana nodded, wiping her brow with her then tiny hand in exasperation. And cut the cyan wire. She almost didn't want to, it was so beautiful, actually...quite inviting. After she slit it, the motor started running and Mittu announced the last step. "The last step. Say those words again for a permanent fix." Gagana happily said the words, hopped out of the engine, and transformed back to her normal self. She and Mittu shared a high-five, until someone started choking her. Wong Chi had a dangerous look in her eye, and her face was covered with scars and blood streamed everywhere, almost as if someone was torturing her. "So you stupid kids DID escape, huh? Well, too bad. Since wittle Samriddhi broke my promise, I'm gonna have to kill you. Oh, who's this girl? Eh, it would be extra credit to kill her too." A raspy voice in a sweet tone said. It was not a pleasant sound. Wong Chi raised her dagger, but for some reason..she couldn't kill the little girls. She had them in her grasp, one of them was choking, but...something was telling her she shouldn't do this. You see, Wong Chi was once a beautiful young Maorlan woman called Ling Su, who loved everything and anything about life.  She had a home, a job, a family, in fact, two young children around Mittu and Gagana's ages. One day, she was walking home from the supermarket..then black. Wong Chi started thinking. "I..I have to stop. I must act before my Wong Chi side attacks. For Ba and Mai," Wong said, closing her eyes in concentration, releasing her hand from Mittu's swollen throat and Vidushi's mouth.

Right then, Ling Su transported all of the light she had left to help Jiti. For now, she removed all the darkness for a temporary while, about three days. You can imagine how surprised Mittu, Gagana, and Nandini were when they ran to Kuttu only to find her laughing and hugging Jiti tight, Jiti, being herself, slightly denying it. "Easy. It's not like I rose from the grave or somethin-Wow, that's tight. You..you can let go now, K. K??" Jiti said, wincing as Kuttu hugged her even tighter. Jiti was like the cool teen sister she never had, she didn't know what she'd do without her. "I expect someone kind out there did this," Jane smiled, then noticing that the mark was still there, the smile turned into a knowing grin. "This 'person' gave us just enough time to get to Madame Grommet- her remedies take around 2 days to heal. Now on! Jiti has come back to us, let's not let her go this time." she declared. Pretty soon, you could hear happy steam puffing out of a (chimney?) on a Volkswagen near the small towns of Lil. It was a very sweet area, pretty white houses with glamorous balconies and mango trees everywhere. Kuttu picked one mango and bit into it happily, without it having any wax to wash off like the apples in supermarkets. Yes, this place was a delight! Merchants sporting handlebar mustaches and twinkling eyes sold pheasant wine for 2 ęceli a cup, sunflower gardens, and blossoming trees. This was a dream. Feeling hungry, the group stopped at a restaurant. "Excuse me! Yes, hello. I would like the roasted bao stuffed with crab please," Kuttu said, the waiter noting down her order. "Nezuko special for me!" Mittu yelled. 15 minutes later, a waitress served them steaming hot bowls of ramen and bao. "Mmm...hey, this food is great!" Palon said between mouthfuls. Surprisingly, the head of the restaurant came over as they were enjoying their meals.
