Brooke was frantically skimming through her O.W.L results as her smile widened. Brooke had managed to score 10 O.W.Ls with an 'O' in Transfiguration, Herbology, Charms, Defence Against the Dark Arts, Care of Magical Creatures and Muggle studies, an 'E' in Potions, Arithmancy and Astronomy, and an 'A' in History of Magic.
As per her Career Counselling sessions with Professor McGonagall, Brooke required an 'O' or at least an 'E' in Potions, DADA, Charms, Herbology, and Transfiguration. And Brooke had all the requirements she needed for pursuing her upcoming career as a Healer.
Charlie had achieved a high O.W.Ls score as well, and it was all because of Charlie's tutoring that Brooke had been able to score an 'O' in Care of Magical Creatures. And with Brooke's help, Charlie had been able to score an 'O' in Muggle Studies and Herbology.
Bill had achieved high N.E.W.T scores in Charms, Defence Against the Dark Arts, Potions, and Transfiguration, and had decided to pursue Curse Breaking as his Career. He had also been accepted for the same at Gringotts Wizarding Bank.
Molly had been congratulating the three of them, telling them that she couldn't have been more proud, over and over again. Percy had been looking at their report cards with admiration, and Brooke wondered if Percy's report card might be similar soon.
"You okay there, love?" Brooke was snapped out of her thoughts by Charlie's voice. She nodded and smiled at the redhead.
"Alright, lovebirds. Cut this out, we've got a garden to de-gnome." Bill's voice was heard across the room as the pair turned to him and saw Fred and George standing beside him, giggling at his words.
A blush crept up on Brooke's countenance as she chuckled and turned to Charlie, who held out his hand. She accepted it and smiled at him, as they walked into the garden and started helping Bill with the De-Gnoming.
12th August 1989
3.54 a.m.
Brooke's eyes fluttered open as she heard the sound of a Clean Sweep whooshing through the dimly lit sky. She tried to sit up but found herself tangled up in Charlie's arms, as she had fallen asleep in his arms, watching him read about the Giant-Welsh Green and he had fallen asleep watching her.
How did I get so lucky? Brooke thought to herself and smiled at the boy next to her.
The sound of a Clean Sweep's whooshing was heard again as Brooke slowly slipped out of Charlie's grasp, picked up her wand, and tiptoed down the stairs, through the kitchen door, and into the garden. Brooke tightened her grip around her wand and looked around. The dimly lit broom shed came into her view as its door stood ajar.
Brooke slowly approached the broom shed with her wand pointed at it and found a figure moving. Brooke hid behind the door of the broom shed and peeped inside to find a mess of long fiery red hair which belonged to...
"Ginny?" Brooke exclaimed as the 8-year-old jumped.
"Oh, it's you, Bree," Ginny stated and breathed. But Brooke was not happy that Ginny had snuck out in the middle of the night and that too, unsupervised. It could've been dangerous for her.
"You've got some serious explaining to do, Ginevra Molly Weasley," Brooke exclaimed.
Ginny visibly gulped and placed the broomstick back and exited the shed as Brooke locked the shed and walked back into the house with Ginny following her closely.
Once they had reached Ginny's bedroom, which she had been sharing with Brooke, Brooke motioned for Ginny to have a seat as Ginny, who had been expecting Brooke to be mad at her, obeyed and Brooke took a seat adjacent to her.
