Chapter 3

I spin round Jacob he darts fearful looks at me. I start to laugh. My voice rings out like sharp bells, f-sharp, c-sharp. Jared nods at me,

"Get on with it Stace," He murmers. I shake my head.

"My time," I mouth at him. "So Jacob-" I continue "How are you today?" He shakes his head in disbelief. "Hurry up Jacob, or Jake? Can I call you that?"

"Your going to anyway,"

"Good point," I fake thoughtfullness, "So how are you?" I tease. I lean in to the crook of his neck, "This better be a good show for me Jake, don't waste it," I hiss. I can feel his fear torment his body, making him shake, "Thats better," I whisper.

"I'm ok, holding off good,"

"Great thats fantastic," I moan sarcastically. "So if I do this, you'll be fine," I raise my eyebrows as I twitch my arm, raising it to the sky, his soul's lighter than the others. He flinches after the first milimeter. After a centremeter he is shaking so hard,

"NO! DON'T DO IT STACE! PLEASE NO!" He screams in pain, he tries to clutch his stomach. I can feel the first hole coming.

"And-"

"NO STACE PLEASE DON'T DO THIS, PLEASE I'M BEGGING YOU! STACEY ISOBEL LYKA-LINIAR!" I freeze in the process. No one knows my full name, not Jared, not Simeon, not anyone.

"Where did you hear that?" I shriek. "TELL ME NOW OR I SWEAR.. I SWEAR THIS WILL GET A LOT WORSE FOR YOU JACOB!" He winces in pain,

"I READ OK?" He wails back at me, "I've SEEN THE MISSING SECTION! I KNOW WHO YOU ARE STACEY, OR SHOULD I CALL YOU STILL!" My initials, only I know them.

"JUST SHUT UP!" I screech as I rip his soul out and tare it out of his chest, he falls against the pillar he's tied to and lolls against it limply. I close my eyes as a ripple of shock floods my insides, they're looking for me. My stomach ties in a knot. They care? I run past Jared, I can't speak to him.

"Stacey?!" He calls after me. But I ignore it as I curl up in a ball in my office and start weeping.

An hour later

There's a knock on the door. Whoever's on the other side doesn't wait. The door slides open. It's Jared.

"I'm sorry," He tells me, wiping the tears from my face.

"You said it would stop," I accuse him, "You promised,"

"And I promised I'd look after you and I have haven't I?"

I nod, "But they're still looking for me, you said they wouldn't," I move further away from him.

"What do you want me to do?"

"Leave me alone," I murmer and he's gone....
