ELECTRA: I will not stop this violence. No. Oh my friends who is there to comfort me? Who understands? Leave me be, let me go, do not soothe me. This is a knot no one can untie. There will be no rest, there is no retrieval

- Electra, Sophocles

Phaedra awoke to her head banging against the compartment window. A dull ache pounded at her temples and the blonde girl groaned, her eyelashes fluttering as she groggily opened her eyes, reaching a hand up to rub her head, "What the fuck, Edmond?" The boy grinned at her, doing his best to look innocent, though there was only one person who could have - or would have - awoken her like that.

"Language," Narcissa sniffed, shooting the girl a narrow-eyed glare. Phaedra rolled her eyes at the other blonde, waving a dismissive hand in the air.

"Ah, Penny, you owe me three galleons," Edmond gave the dark-haired girl a cheeky smile before turning back to Phaedra and patting the top of her silky blonde head, "but we're here. Amycus and I will go get changed - we'll meet you four in the Great Hall."

"Maybe she would've woken up in a better mood if you didn't slam her head against the window," Penelope grumbled, crossing her arms over her chest and narrowing her eyes at Edmond's retreating figure, "I don't owe you shit."

"Tell that to my lawyers," Edmond called over his shoulder, looking back to give her a dazzling smile, "and I will see you in court."

With a wave of Narcissa's wand, shutters covered the glass compartment door and the four girls changed into their Slytherin robes in silence. Penelope cursed as the train slowed down, and she motioned up towards the luggage rack, "Edmond left his robes for us to deal with."

Narcissa scoffed, narrowing her eyes, "Of course he did. Why does he always do that?"

"Because we always bring it for him," Alecto rolled her beady eyes, "I'm not carrying it."

"Don't look at me," Phaedra raised her hands in the air. A miniscule, teasing smile pulled at her lips, "Penelope, why don't you carry Edmond's robes. Perhaps he'll give you a kiss if you do."

"Phae!" Penelope's cheeks flushed, her eyes widening and jaw dropping open slightly. Her voice raised slightly, and she shook her head rapidly, "I do not like Edmond."

A soft smile tugged at Narcissa's lips, and she tucked loose strands of her straight, glossy blonde hair behind her ear, "I have a few letters with your signature that would say otherwise."

"Cissy!" Penelope's voice came out as a pathetic squeak and she buried her face in her hands, "That was a secret," she peeked out from between her fingers, "Phae, Alecto, I - I don't like him anymore, please don't tell him."

"We won't say a word, will we, Alecto," Phaedra shot the girl a pointed glare, and Alecto nodded, albeit hesitantly - each of them knew Alecto had a large mouth and tended to utilize people's secrets against them. Blackmail was the way the Carrows had risen to high-society, and it seemed that each generation only enjoyed it more and more.

Once the train stopped, the four girls exited the compartment and climbed into the first available Thestral-drawn carriage. Phaedra had been able to see them since her first year, unfortunately. She wasn't surprised - Lucius had warned her; the two had been beside their mother as she took her final breaths in Saint Mungos. She envied all the lucky students, ones from loving, happy families that still believed the carriages drove themselves to the castle.
