Chapter 6: Unwanted Company
I got out onto the street. I was a few strides ahead of Muscle Boy to begin with but his long ass legs allowed him to quickly over take me. He was now walking in front of me, head held high, smirking. He's so fucking arrogant. I rolled my eyes. I hope he walks into a tree.
He slowed as he got to this old grey pickup truck. This thing had to go through a car wash pronto. Somehow he got mud splashed up to the backseat window. Does he drive through swamps or some shit? He went to the passenger’s side and unlocked the car. Swinging the door open, he bowed towards me and motioned his hand towards it.
"Would you kindly get in, M'Lady?" He put on a fake British accent. I cocked an eyebrow as I approached the grimy vehicle.
The truck was high due to its monster wheels. Although my height isn't the most average, I'm more than capable of getting up without struggle. I grabbed hold of the frame and pulled myself up. I feel a huge hand grasp the thigh just above the underside of my knee, hoisting me into the seat.
"OI!" I yelled. I jerked my elbow back into something solid. I heard a pained grunt as I quickly set myself into the car and turned towards the door. I held my leg out, ready to swat whatever came in the way. Bow-tie stood up, as he had doubled over in pain after I elbowed him in the gut. He looked flushed, arms across his abdominal. My foot was an inch away from his head.
"What the fuck?!" He yelled.
"Yo pervert ass felt me up! How the fuck am I supposed to react?!" I shouted.
"Goddamn, I was trying to fucking help your short ass." Bow-tie said matter-of-factly. He looked back at me, goddamn he was at eye level. Was he seriously that tall? He seemed surprised to find me in the same tensed position.
"Calm the fuck down short stack, Christ..." He walked himself to the driver's side and got in.

We got to the top of my street. I told him to drop me off at the corner simply because I didn't want him to know exactly where I lived. What if he turned out to be a complete creep? Well, I wasn't gunna take my chances.
"Are you sure your fine here? I could always just-"
"No it's fine. Um, my friend is coming by to pick me up soon." A complete lie, but since it's only around 3:00, I decided that I would call up Dai. Because Dai was the eyes and ears of Baltimore, she should should be able to get me invited to a party. I needed to cool off.
"Where you going?" He asked me. His voice was sincere with curiosity.
"Need to know basis."
"You sound like a spy. Which you obviously aren't." He laughed.
"Excuse me?"
"You're not a spy. Obviously."
"I could be a spy if I wanted to!" I have no idea why I'm even arguing, maybe it was because I had a drive to prove him wrong.
He looked at me for a minute, with a smirk on his face. "Ok." Admiting defeat? No. He turned off the engine and got out of the car. After slamming the door shut I find him next to me within seconds.
Wait. What now.
He noticed my puzzled look, "I don't feel right leaving you here waiting by yourself. This isn't the safest neighborhood." He just dropped our spy subject in an instant. How come I feel like the one who's been defeated?
I scoffed. Did he seriously think that me, of all people need a body guard? Nice gesture, for the girls that put feminism to shame. "I'm quite alright by myself thank you." I started crossing the road. I looked to my right to find Bow-tie still in my vision.
"Do you have a problem?" I said, still walking. He was really getting on my nerves now.
"Nope." He was still following me.
"Then fuck off." My sharp words didn't seem to faze him in the slightest. He was chuckling quietly to himself, still walking beside me.
"I'm trying to be a gentleman here, but you’re making it hard." I could hear the smirk on his face.
"I'm going to ignore that sexual innuendo. Who said I needed a gentleman? Cause I sure as hell didn't."
"It's called being polite." I could tell he was getting irritated.
"I barely know you dude! But the way that you're following me now gives me impression that you're not only a perv but also a stalker."
"For the last time I didn't feel you up! I was just trying to help, you were about to go through a struggle and i was helpig you before you were embarassed.."
"Like I said. I am quite alright by. My. Self. Thankyou." I spoke, teeth clenched. An amused tone returned to his voice.
"Is that so?"
That was it. I spun around to face him.
"I've had a really shit day. Now, you pestering me just to take the piss isn't helping. If you want to keep your legs intact, I suggest you leave me the fuck alone. Bow-tie."
He narrowed his eyes, staring at me with his arms crossed over his chest.
"Fine. But if you end up getting mugged, raped or kidnapped, you'd better tell Ralph that you forced me to leave."
I mimicked his actions. "It's the middle of the day and I don't live in Harlem for Christ sake."
He turned around and started walking back to his car. "Whatever you say."
I grumbled to myself. This guy has some nerve. After I was sure he had left, I crossed the street again and realized that I had done a bunch of extra walking for no reason. Great.
I pulled my phone out of my bag and dialed Dai's number. After a few rings someone answered.
"Hey hey hey." I heard Dai's light voice on the other end.
"Hey Dai, could-"
She cut me off, "Dude! There's this huge block party happening tonight at 8 and I got us all invited!" Still too damn peppy for my liking.
"Perfect. Give me a ride?"
"Sure thing hun." She cut the phone.
A party was just what I needed to calm down. Hopefully, my day will end with a bang.
