Someone was chasing me. I'm sure of it. It's getting darker and I can't really see ahead of me. In the act of running as I was panting I ran past the figure. Stupid mistake. I was supposed to see everything, I was taught that from a young age. But I have stayed up for days on end making up my plan. I was exhausted. So I went to the place where all book smugglers go. A place between shelves in the very heart of the library.

There is always 1 gas lamp there, just enough light for yourself. But I didn't light it, I had a gut feeling I shouldn't. I sat down, on the nice quilts. Made just like my grandmother used to, warm and cozy. I would love to Fall asleep right here right now, but I can't because I have a mission, and I'm already running off schedule.

The guy chasing me has an entitled aura around him, like he's gotten everything he's ever wanted, I've seen glimpses of him while I watched, he has a black suit with a black tie on, he has a scruffy beard, like he hasn't shaved in days. Which I guess he hasn't, he's been chasing me.

I start to sit down, I can't hear the heavy footsteps anymore, they've completely disappeared. I think I hear ragged breathing, but I can't be too sure, it could be just the wind. I start to wind down for bed, my first step is always taking my cloak off. I start to drag my hood down my head... ACHOO, I heard a loud noise from behind the shelves startle me, I wasn't expecting it. I scan the shelves for the noise, nothing.

I tug the hood up as far as it would go, it covers my face. I stood up and reached down for the book, in my rush I didn't notice I lost my ring. It was important to me, I've had it since I was 14. It was the only heirloom of my family. It has been passed down from generation to generation. I was the last. I'm hoping for kids one day.

I started to run, as fast as I could, as I raced away, I started to ask myself. Why are they following me? Am I that important?

(A.N. I would like to make this chapter longer at a later date.)
