Nico's P.O.V.

I sat by Skye's bed, holding her hand. My stomach grumbled loudly but I ignored it. This was the third day I had spent by Skye's side without eating. Three days since she'd blacked out for no reason. She wouldn't wake and her skin was ice cold. The only signs that she was still alive were the shallow breathing and occasional movement of her eyes behind their lids.

'Here,' Percy said quietly, handing me a glass of water. I ignored it, refusing to take my eyes off skye.

'Come on Nico, you need to at least drink something or you'll get ill,' he cajoled. 'Sitting here making yourself sick isn't going to help Skye.'

I blinked back tears at his words. Skye would get better, and I wouldn't leave her side until she did. Percy sighed and left the room. When I was sure he was gone I took a quick sip of water. It helped lessen some of the pain in my throat but apart from that it was just an annoying necessity.

'Come on Skye,' I whipsered hoarsely. 'Please, wake up.'

Two weeks. It had been two weeks. Healers from St Mungos had been unable to do anything for her and Skye remained unconcious. Percy had just left the room, as he did every day after persuading me to drink something and occasionally have some food. I was staring blankly at the wall when suddenly a single thought broke through the whirling mess of pain and chaos in my head.

She's going to die.

The thought hit me so hard I felt winded. I couldn't breathe and suddenly I felt extremely claustrophobic. I stood up dizzily, stumbling as the walls pressed in on me and the room span. I tripped to the door and almost fell as I rolled down the stairs. I had to get out of this house.

'Nico! Nico where are you going?' A voice yelled behind me. I ignored it and ran out the front door, gasping as the fresh air hit me. It was tipping with rain but the water on my face was refreshing. As soon as I felt like I could walk without tripping I ran into the shadows.

Percy's P.O.V.

'Nico! Nico where are you going?' I yelled. He blanked me and I watched in shock as he ran out of the house and shadow travelled to who knew where.

I walked slowly into the living room where the mood was somber. Hermione, who had been in tears since her argument with Skye looked up with glistening eyes as I entered.

'What was that?' she asked, concerned at my shocked face.

'Nico's gone' I replied heavily, drawing gasps of shock from the others.

'Gone where?'Harry demanded.

I shrugged and fell into a chair. 'Dunno. Just gone.'

We sat by the fire in the living room, staring out the window at the dark sky. It was two in the morning, the wind was screaming through the trees, the rain was heavier if anything and Nico still hadn't appeared. Suddenly Annabeth made some kind of shriek and pointed into the darkness. A figure had just appeared and was stumbling aroud in the dark, screaming and waving its fist at the Skye. Even from in the house we could hear Nico cursing the gods. Ron, Harry and I ran outside to get him, and I caught him just in time to stop him from face planting the dirt as he passed out.

With the guys' help we managed to carry him inside and lay him on a sofa. Hermione performed some quick spells to dry his clothes and clean off the mud and what looked disturbingly like vomit.

'Gods, what happened to you Nico?' Annabeth sighed as he whimpered and cried in his sleep.

'Guys you should go and get some sleep,' I told the others. 'I'll stay and watch him.'

Everyone nodded gratefully and began to go upstairs. I was happy when Annabeth stayed behind and came to sit with me. 'I'll keep you company,' she said. I smiled at her and held her close as Nico slept fitfully and the sky outside got gradually lighter.
