(Man takes steps to escape, making sure it really is safe to go outside)
I have bags packed to go. Food, a map, a knife- knives (worst comes to worst I can throw them if the thing comes too close. It's not like there's anyone else for me to leave them for), and some money for if when I get out. As nice as people can be sometimes, like fuck there's gonna be enough pity for me to manage on my own for long when I get out. But I don't need that until later, so that's at the bottom. I thought about prepping the car, but- hah, I'm not taking chances of the sound catching that thing's attention. I'll be able to slip into smaller places without the car anyway. No way in hell that thing is able to fit into buildings now. I should be able to weave through buildings and alleyways if it gets too close.
I'm thinking of trying to sneak out to the houses next door. Just to hype myself up. Maybe, possibly, I'll feel more safe knowing I can go out without dying. Possibly. No, if I do that I'll just get comfortable with staying. I need to do it all in one go. Let's not tempt fate.
I have bags packed. Now, I just need to wait for that thing to be far enough away.
