— PROLOGUE —
Daylight Prairie. A wonderful, bright, colorful flower and grass-filled realm. Where the spirits lead Avatars to places they had never had never known existed, but places they would stay.
It was there that Ochari was walking, holding hands with his beloved, Nora. They had just finished up exploring and helping new traveling avatars to the Realm of Island of the Dawn, and a few other Hidden Forest avatars had joined them, along with a few little sky children. One of them seemed so scared, so, against Nora's protests, Ochari held out his hand for the little one. They accepted it gladly, and now were latched onto said hand, like a lost child with their mother.
The little skykid had a little flute that they adorably held in their hands protectively, and fluffy white hair that made it impossible to tell the gender. The back half was pulled into a fluffy little ponytail. Their wings, unlike Orchari and Nora's, Orachari's being a dark green-blue and Nora's being a green with light-green cloud-like spots, was a bright yellow-gold color, with white snaked across the bottom. Their eyes were the brightest gold-yellow.
They had a mask, a little fox mask, that covered half of their face. It was a golden-white color. It intrigued Nora and Orchari, as Nora had a simple mask carved of wood and Orchari had a dark gray mask with ears sticking out of the top and eyeholes completely different from the skykid's, intricately carved.
Nora had grown to love the child's cute little behavior in a matter of hours, as it reminded her of all the good things she once had enjoyed as a smaller kid herself. Seeing the skykid so happy just...stirred up her own happy memories. Sparked a joy in her that she hadn't been able to unlock since childhood in the Hidden Forest with her friends.
Now, the little one was staring delightfully at the sky. The bright, wonderful, light-blue sky, fluffed with clouds here and there. They seemed to love the sight. They even had enough courage to run over and chase the little butterflies, which flew away from him as he tried to catch them but only stumbled and fell to the ground. Nora laughed, and bent down to cup her hands around his little cheeks and watch as they grinned adorably.
The skykid looked up at her with a slight wonder and appreciation, and happiness was swirling around their eyes.
''Are you a good careperson?'' the little skykid asked, and Nora paused.
''Am I a good careperson, little one?'' Nora asked, and the skykid nodded vigorously. ''You're better than who I had before.''
Nora uncupped their face. ''Who took care of you before?'' she asked cautiously, in case it was a sensitive question. The skykid's face slightly drained of his former joy.
''I don't know her name, she just told me to call her 'madame'.'' the skykid shrugged, looking rather uncomfortable with the topic. A flash of recognition crossed Nora's face, but she shook it off. She glanced over at Orchari, who was also watching her carefully. His brain seemed to click.
Orchari didn't want to talk about it, and instead watched as the little Skykid removed their expression and changed it to happiness as they spotted an avatar, which they happily stumbled over to and delightfully gave them a flower they picked, with the avatar making an awwwwhhh sound and taking it gently from them.
Orchari realized they did not ask for the little one's name, only led them to where they needed to be. It was a good reason though, one cannot be distracted by things such as names when one is flying.
''Little one, what is your name?'' Orchari asked gently, and the little skykid turned around and looked at him.
''What is a name? All I remember going by was something called 'Fourteen','' they responded, seeming confused.
