Skesis had arrived at the great temple, which stood strong and proud among the trees that the treehouses had been built in. The temple was sure to have traps, as Skesis knew from the stories. And stories were almost always right.
''That's huge... and the bridge is broken. How do we cross?'' Mokl mumbled, before collapsing onto Raak's shoulder.
''He's very slow to regenerating energy, it's a strange thing,'' Raak explained to the quizzical looks of Jhokka and Qarr. Skesis patted Mokl on the shoulder.
''I've heard hugs work,'' Mokl muttered, softly. Raak smiled at him. Since they had known each other for years, it wasn't uncommon for them to hug each other.
''You know you could just ask,'' Raak laughed as he hugged Mokl gently, in which he hugged back. His energy seemed to recharge a bit faster, but as usual, Raak lost a little bit of his energy.
''That's...working?'' Skesis looked confused. Raak tilted his head. ''Yeah, odd right? It also makes me lose some, but I gain it back.''
Skesis felt jealous of their friendship. He wished he could have a friend like that, but now, the most he had was his sister. His old friend died, his body found in a treehouse. He still couldn't get the horror in his face out of his mind. And he knew it was a harvester's doing, as the symbol of the dark dragon was branded on his cheek. This further enraged past and present Skesis.
''Can we go? We have to move quickly before something eats us-'' Tokmoy sensed the sadness that Skesis seemed to hold, and she took his hand. This shook Skesis out of his memories.
''Tokkie, you got a plan to get across since Mokl doesn't have enough energy to see how?'' Skesis asked Tokmoy sweetly, making Tokmoy laugh and Raak chuckle a little.
''There are four bridge parts. We start to fly and land on the bridge parts that are closest to where we want to land.'' Tokmoy stated, and Skesis clapped.
''Lead the way then.'' Skesis said, smiling at her. She nodded, and Skesis held Tokmoy's other hand. Jhokka and Qaar were going to fly on their own, as they haid said they were going to. Raak and Mokl were going to hold hands, and Raak was going to fly them, meaning Raak and Mokl were also flying on their own.
Tokmoy took off, struggling a little bit due to the weight of the avatars before regaining herself and gliding. Her energy was able to be regenerated quicker, due to the rain helping her, which allowed her to flap more times.
''We're gonna have to light up the bridge we land on,'' Tokmoy called at Jhokka and Qarr, who nodded before Jhokka landed on the last broken bridge section. Tokmoy tried to follow, but ended up landing on the third, which was second to last of the broken bridge section. Raak and Mokl landed on the same bridge part as Skesis and Tokmoy.
Tokmoy started to burn the overflowing amount of dark plants that had crowded the bridge part, Skesis helping her with his brighter burning candle. Raak was also helping to burn away the dark plants, and eventually they found a smooth, small pillar-like object sticking out of the bridge part. Skesis, Tokmoy, and Raak lit it up, which made it glow and rumble.
Giant pieces of the broken bridge started to float up and crackle and rumble as they fell into place, forming a bridge to the other bridge part where Jhokka and Qarr were, still trying to burn the dark plants.
''We got it. Let's go,'' Tokmoy narrowed her eyes as she started speeding towards Jhokka and Qarr. Once she reached them, she started burning the plants at a furious pace, as Jhokka and Qarr struggled to burn them, as well as fight off the overwhelming feeling of depression and dread the plants forced upon them. Tokmoy had no such weakness, another pro of being able to hold dangerous plants.
