CHAPTER 29: We Meet Again, Seoul

Unang araw namin sa Seoul. Binuksan ko ang mga kurtina ng bintana namin. Kate is still sleeping. I can smell a new start here. Oh. I relaxed my chest for awhile. Hanggang kailan kaya kami dito? Magiging successful ba kami dito? Wish us luck. For sure, kapag wala kaming napagla, uuwi kami ng Pinas.

"Katalk!"

Woah. My phone beeps. Sino naman kaya tong nag-message sa Kakaotalk ko? I snaked my hand on my pocket...

Hi Gwen~

"P-Park Hyemi?" I mumble

Si Park Hyemi eonni! One of my FB friend. A Korean friend. Napakabait nito sakin. Sabi niya, bibigyan daw niya ako ng regalo once na napunta ako dito sa Seoul. Should I claim it na ba? I shook my head on silly thoughts.

: Hello!! I'm here in Seoul already. Can I see you?

: Sure! I'm working today so can we meet tomorrow? Seoul subway

: Okay. Actually my friend and I are looking for a job right now. Do you know some opportunities here?

: Yeah. For foreign people? I can put you in some café or salon.

: Wow. Thanks! Let's talk about that tomorrow.

: Alright. I gotta roll here, Gwen. See ya! ㅋㅋ

: Oh, take care!!

I put my phone down and heaved a sigh. Is this really effective? Para din kasing out of place ang foreign people dito.

"Good morning. Ang aga mo gumising ah" Kate sits up while rubbing her eyes

"Naninibago lang kasi ako. Hindi din ako nakatulog ng maayos." I mumble

"Is that so? Baka naman namimiss mo na ang Pinas. We can go home if you want." Kate chuckles

Silly. Of course not, mas gusto ko dito. Mas tahimik. Ano ba ang aabutan ko sa Pinas? Tons of problems. Sinabayan pa ng pollution. It's like hell in our homeland.

"Hindi naman. Makakapag-adjust naman ako since it's a new start of our life." I glance out of the window.

The streets seems fine. Wala masyadong dumadaan. This is what I want, a peaceful place. Sino ba namang may ayaw, di ba? Darn.

"Sige. Ako na magp-prepare ng breakfast natin since napaka-sentimental mo this morning. Cheer up!" Kate grins at me. I can feel her excitement.

I nod. Kate goes to the bathroom.

"So, you mean Gwen and Kate is here in Seoul?" Baekhyun faces Sehun

"Baekhyun-ah, you kept saying it. Are you deaf?" Chen chuckles

"Yah. I'm making sure of it. Don't tease me like that" Baekhyun frowns

"You just saw a Gwen-like person" Kai shakes his head

"It's true! Aish!~" Sehun stands in front of them "I'm telling the truth"

Tao pulls down Sehun "Sehun-ah, you're just sleepy last night. Cut it off"

"No. I'm not. I can show you their apartment if you still insist that I'm lying here." Sehun nods

Everyone looks at each other and gulps a bit. "We believe you now, little one"

Chanyeol appears at the doorway with his guitar. He seems not in the mood.
