„I'm falling for you, Mary." Cate spokes out of nowhere.

I was surprised.
I've never thought that she would say it first.
She's a strong and independent woman but with that she let her walls break down.
„I did long ago." I said with a big smile on my face.
She bursted out in laugher and hugged me tight.
Her skin against mine felt so good.
And her warm embrace like home.
„That feels so good." I mumbled.
„Mhmm."

As we went back home, there were a lot of police cars and some FBI agents too.
But we were so happy that we didn't expect anything.
„Wow, hopefully it hasn't happened something bad." Cate said to me.
As we came near to our house, we saw officers at the front door.
I've got panicked.
What if something happened to dad?
Cate felt my panic and grabbed my hand.
As the front door opened we saw my dad.
I let out a sigh but when we saw that he were in handcuffs I immediately ran after him.
„Stop! What are you doing with him?"
„Please stay back. Who are you?" a police officer asked.
„I'm his daughter! I want to now what's going on here?!"
As I felt a hand on my shoulder I quickly turned around and saw Cate.
„Good evening officer, my name is Cate Blanchett and That's Marisa Jones. She is Mr Jones daughter and I'm the girlfriend. Can you please tell me why you arrested him?" Cate spoke calm to the officer.
I looked at her with a thankful gaze.
As answer she squeezed my shoulder.
„Of course Ms Blanchett. I will send you the leading FBI agent. Just wait a few moments." the officer answered friendly.
A few minutes later he came back with a tall and strong man.
„Hello Ms Blanchett, hello Ms Jones. I'm special Agent Worther. You wanted to speak with me?" he asked.
Again Cate spoke.
„Yes, we want to know why Mr Jones getting arrested."
The agent sighed and answered.
„We're arrest him for the murder of his wife, Christina Jones. We found surveillance cameras that clearly identified him as the perpetrator. He has also embezzled millions from the company he works for. And I'm sorry to tell you that he hid the documents in his daughters room. We're done at a few minutes. Please stay outside of the house until we're allow you to go in."
Everything moved in slow motion.
He killed my mom?
But why?
In the next moment Cate let go of my hand and ran to my dad.
She gave him a slap.
I saw that he said something to her and she nodded and answered.
She came back and wrapped her arm around me.
„Come on, we're stay at my apartment for the night." she whispered in my ear.
I just nodded, that's all I could do in the moment.
She hold me for a few minutes more and took me to her car.
She placed me on the passenger seat and quickly sat on the drivers seat.
I didn't recognize how we got to her apartment.
I can't moved myself out of the car so she lifted me up and carried me inside her home.
She laid me on her bed and asked me if she can take my clothes off.
I nodded and helped her a bit.
She got a long T- Shirt from her closet for me.
Cate laid me under the sheets and wanted to leave the room.
„Can you please stay?" I whispered in the dark.
I saw her taking off her clothes too and put a long T- Shirt on.
She laid down next to me but stayed a few inches away.
„C...can you h...hold me please?" i asked quiet.
Immediately I felt her body against mine.
She pulled me on top of her so I can snuggled with my hair in her neck.
She draw circles on my back and kissed my forehead.
Her smell soothed me and soon I fell asleep.

As I woke up I reached out for Cate.
But she wasn't there anymore.
In panic I jumped out of the bed, ran out of the room and screamed her name.
As she ran to me I bursted out in tears and before I could fall on the ground she caught me.
She took me up and brought me to the couch.
I wasn't able to stop crying and hung like a koala on Cates chest.
She stayed with me the whole time, drew small circles on my back and whispered calm words into my ear.
After what felt like hours my sobs got smaller and Cate pushed my head slightly back to look in my eyes.
„Im sorry, love. I haven't thought that it would be so horrible." Cate excused herself.
I just shook my head.
„No, it's okay. I've overreacted. You haven't done anything wrong. I was just panicking."
„No, don't say that. I can barely imagine what you're going through. And I'm there for you, no matter how much you're panicking. Alright, sweetheart?"
