-Police Officer's POV-
As I work on my documents, I hear the phone ring shrilly throughout my office. Sighing, I picked it up. "Hello, this is the Girls' Home," I called. "What do you want?""Sir!" the man screamed hysterically. "It's Lyna's dad! Get Lyna now! Her sister is badly injured in hospital!"
I gasped for a moment and replied calmly, "I will get her now. Thank you."
-Lyna's POV-
It was study hall. The classroom was dead silent, with only ceiling fans and pens making sounds. All of a sudden,a police officer went up to the supervisor and whispered some things to my supervisor. The supervisor looked up and instructed, "Lyna, you have a family emergency. Follow Officer Raju now."My heart stopped for a moment. In all tension, I uneasily got out of my seat and followed him. What was the family emergency? I hope no one is dying.
Officer Raju brought me out to the building and took me to his car. In the car, Officer Raju explained, "Your father sent me a text about your older sister Sona. Sona fell down the stairs and suffered a head injury because of that. And she did not fall down accidentally, eyewitnesses said she did it because she couldn't bear the pressure of others mocking her for her sister in the girls' home."
My heart was in my mouth. I ran away in a grudge against my parents, and now I have cost my sister's future. Those tears just started flowing down my cheeks, but I couldn't say why I was crying. Our happy family was now torn apart, thanks to me.

We reached the hospital. After Officer Raju talked to the receptionist about my sister's location, he led me to... the ICU ward.Outside the ward, I saw two hysterical figures. My mum was crying so hard in the hospital ward that she was pounding on Sona's still unconscious body. My dad cried so hard he was nowhere to be found. Just then, the nurse went into my sister's ward. It was then that Police Officer Raju explained everything, and then the nurse let me in.

When I got in, I was not prepared for what i saw. My sister was lying down with her bright black eyes gone. Her body was inserted with tubes and needles all over. Machines were attached to her to monitor her vitals. An eyewitness (her school teacher), filled me on what happened. She was here to check on Sona.

Sona ran and jumped on the stairs, losing balance along the way. After hitting her head, Sona's heart couldn't take the shock and thus stopped beating. It was then that this teacher witness it and immediately resuscitated her, by her efforts went down the drain. She was taken to hospital immediately. That happened... just the previous day.

Life was that fragile.Yet I fooled around with it.
Both mine and my sister's. We had no future.
Just then, the nurse left and came back with some brain scans. Could they have scanned it? At that time, Sona's heartbeat went to a Low 4 beats per minute, and then a deafening beep was heard throughout the room. I closed my eyes, unsure was what happening, and then looked up.
0 bpm.
Sona died from a concussion.
The nurse talked to my mum who was so hysterical she fainted. She was rushed to an observation ward by other nurses. Does my dad know about this? I don't think it's if he knows it, but when he'll know it.
I'm sorry, Sona.
